Great flea medication works in 15 minutes
Was trying to find something that would not harm my pets and it would work very quick. Was recommended this. Let me tell you if you want to get rid of a flea infestation on an animal. These things are great. They work within 15 minutes within 24 hours all the fleas are gone your pet is happy and healthy fair warning some pets will get diarrhea from them not all but some I have 10 cats that I use these on two out of the 10 always get diarrhea when I get these pills to them like I said, they are great for getting rid of fleas fast and seem to be pretty harmless. Been using them for about eight months so far.

Works for getting rid of fleas
I give my dogs one of these prior to going to boarding and immediately when they arrive home after boarding. It does the trick! No more itchiness. My dogs are not usually exposed to situations where they could pick up fleas, so it's great for boarding and daycare. I don't like putting topical poisons on my dogs' fur because, well, poison. I also use Sentinel which prevents them from getting infested should they pick up a flea here or there, but the Capstar is fantastic when I know there is a good chance they were exposed. This only works for 24 hours, however, so if you want something longer-lasting, you'll likely need to go to your vet. I like Capstar because it is safe to give almost every dog.

Good for small dogs
This definitely works and works fast. I gave this pill to my two year old pug, and within about 15 to 30 minutes you could clearly see the fleas reacting and coming off. It was honestly a huge relief to see how quickly it started working. My dog had really bad itching during the summer, and after finding out he had fleas, we tried a few things that did not help much. This pill made a noticeable difference almost immediately and gave him real relief. The tablet is very small and easy to give, especially if you hide it in food. For the price and how quickly it works, this is a great product to have on hand if your dog has fleas. I would definitely buy this again.

Works as intended for new flea infestations. Not for ongoing ones.
This works best if you just discovered a new flea infestation on your pet. If you have an ongoing flea problem, I suggest getting one that targets all stages of the flea life cycle (your local veterinarian should help with suggesting the best products for your pet).

Didn't work at all for Alaskan Malamutes
First, let me point out that CapStar is NOT a preventative! It is supposed to kill adult fleas on the dog but it doesn't prevent them from getting fleas again - not does it kill anything but adult fleas, which means you still need something (monthly topical or oral flea medicine) to kill the eggs and the larvae or those will obviously mature into adults and you and your pet are stuck in the vicious cycle. That being said, here is my first and only experience with CapStar. We have never had flea issues until this year. I have two Alaskan Malamutes - one 105 pound "short hair" and one 110 pound long hair. Clearly, they both have the Malamute thick double coat. We usually like K9 Advantix II for flea treatment/prevention. Early this summer, I bought the Amazon brand that has the same ingredients. As K9 Advantix Ii. It arrived with no expiration date and I'm not sure if that's the reason that it doesn't seem to work, that it's not the same formula or perhaps the fleas have become resistant... or it's just an especially overwhelming year for fleas. Either way, I thought by trying this first and THEN putting their prevention on within a day or two would work. I gave them each a CapStar pill, nervously watched for adverse reactions and thanked God they didn't seem to have any issues. It also didn't seem to help the flea situation - they continued scratching and biting as before. Because I didn't want to give them back to back, I waited for about 48 hours before giving another CapStar to each of them. Once again, no reaction but the scratching and chewing hasn't subsided at all nine hours later. In fact, I almost feel like both times, they are actually scratching more after the CapStar tablets?? It makes me wonder if it is actually not killing the fleas but just irritating them and making them more active and angry (or at least more hungry LOL). I really needed this to work and was hoping that in conjunction with a topical preventative, we would be able to both kill AND prevent reinfstation with a two prong attack. Sadly, we are just out more money, time and effort. I should mention that a long side this effort, I treated the bedrooms that have carpet (the rest of the house has hard floors and we have a no-knap, outdoor rug I'm the living room because it can be power washed) Anyway, I sprayed the Vet's Best Flea & Tick Home Spray on the carpet, mattresses and washed bedding & blankets. It's difficult to get every possible location that a flea could be hiding but I was fortunate to be able to see a flea and spray directly on it. The Vet's Best spray killed it in less than 10 seconds. It does say that you can apply it to your dog's coat and rub it in down to their skin. That sounded too unrealistic with their thick coats but because it is natural, smells really nice IMO and obviously works, I think I will still attempt that on most of their cost/body, add Diatomaceous Earth to the floors, dog beds, rugs, etc and THEN try reapplying topical prevention. I just have to decide of I am going to use some of the 8 tubes I have left of the Amazon brand or try something else - might pick up the Frontline Plus that's on sale at Costco tomorrow.

It works wonders
Ok so I have 3 small dogs 25lb, 20lb and around 18lb I bought the big dog pack give and split one pill for my 2 smaller dogs, I just used it today and so far is good, now I want to add that it takes more than 30 to act also your dog will itch like crazy at around the 20min mark, this happened with all 3 dogs I got a little concerned for a minute because they were all scratching like crazy but I could see the fleas just running around so I guess I make sense unfortunately they were probably eating them up :( after like 20 more minutes I started seeing the fleas just walking slowly and defended but nothing crazy, also most of them didn’t just fall off they died there and I had to comb them out with a flea comb, I was locked on a small bathroom with all 3 of them and after like 45 minutes I gave them a bath with equal parts dish soap, apple c vinegar and like a spoon of baking soda let them marinate for a good 5-10 min and rinse after all that I saw a lot of them just washing out so make sure you bath them after treatment unless you want to find the nasty bugs around your home. I also bought fleas collar to help protect them and groomed them pretty short so I can keep an eye on them.

Doesn't work as well as I had hoped, but it can kill some fleas
Fleas on dog do not all die off after feeding to dog, but it does get rid of some. Had an easier time spraying dog with a safe to use flea spray bottle and getting more results. The price isn't worth the product either, should be cheaper.

Works Great
If you’re looking for something that is a fast flea control and is an effective quality product. Then this is your go to. This is not a preventive, but this will help to kill fleas fast to get them off of your dog to help the itchiness and to keep your animal from being miserable, my dog took this two days and that’s all I needed and they were gone and she’s been fine since. this product is expensive, but it is very effective. You get what you pay for the value for the money.
