Rockland Vision Hardside Spinner Wheel Luggage, Love, 3-Piece Set (20/24/28)

This brightly colored luggage is a target. When I am in line at the airport or hotels, men and women come up to me and smile about this luggage. I have two adult daughters who live far apart and when they get together they always smile about Mom's luggage. One of my daughters took a piece to Costa Rica this spring while chaperoning twenty junior high kids. The luggage was lightweight and kept her clothes dry in all of that humidity, My husband and I cruise at least twice and year and this luggage stands up to the brutal handling of the airlines and the baggage handlers at the docks. We have taken it on the train as well. I like being able to spot it from a long distance away. It is remarkably roomy and holds everything I need for two weeks. I use the largest one to cruise with and the medium one for other travel. The compartment zippers work really well for separating small items. It rolls smoothly and for a seventy four year old senior citizen it is really a treat. This luggage is able to take a lot of abuse but cleans up nicely with a multisurface spray and paper towels. My set is about to go on trip number thirteen and is still looking really good.

I am really pleased with this luggage set. I ordered it to replace on older, heavier set of luggage before I went on vacation. First of all, it arrives very well-packaged. It is boxed securely, and each piece of luggage is inside its own plastic bag and is covered in a protective film to protect the beautiful design. The luggage itself is very lightweight, so I was able to pack more than I would have otherwise. Not only is the luggage very attractive, but it served the additional purpose of being very easy to spot at baggage claim. It did sustain some marks and scratches (which is to be expected the way bags are handled by the airlines), but it survived 2 flights and cruise ship delivery with no structural damage at all. I cannot recommend this set enough for function and value. There was plenty of room inside. I loved the different compartments which made it so easy to organize my belongings. It was very easy to move/roll around with minimal effort. And, people loved the look of it (mistaking it for a different, more expensive brand more than once).

I bought this set because I wanted luggage that was easier to travel with and could not be mistaken for any other person's luggage. These fit the bill! They are not heavy at all and you can fit plenty of clothes and shoes into them, and the pockets for shoes are deep enough to fit a ton of things. I put my blow dryer and hair straightener in one, and shampoo bottles in the other, or sometimes I stuff them with underwear. The wheels are sturdy and allow me to move the luggage without straining my arms and shoulders. The only downfall is that the luggage gets scuff marks after a trip, but it's not enough to make them look horrible, and if you really want them to shine again you can wipe it off with a rag and some soap.

This luggage is awesome and a great value. Read about the materials used to make them. Read other reviews. The airlines do NOT care about your luggage anymore and they WILL get thrown around and banged up, but this luggage holds up very well and scuffs can be buffed out. A great value and they won't blend in with the gray, black, navy and brown crowd! I have even had men stop me and ask where I got this luggage, so yes, guys, a great gift for wives and girlfriends. Many nice color choices, too! These pieces also are VERY light, (I could lift all three pieces up as they were nested together when they arrived with two fingers!!) which matters when poundage is such a big issue these days, and they are sturdy and turn on a dime. They roll down the terminal like butter...They will have to find a new name for LUGgage, because you no longer have to LUG it around!

I bought these over a year ago and so I've had a chance to really see how these bags hold up. The answer: FANTASTIC! I've taken them on all my travels with me and they've been perfect. They're lightweight, they hold a surprisingly lot of stuff, they're absolutely beautiful, and I'm proud to carry them. It's also true, as other reviewers have said, they stand out so distinctively that they're easy to find in a sea of other luggage. That's a stress-reliever for me, who used to carry plain black bags (I thought that was a sophisticated thing to do) and often stood at the airport wondering if I'd missed seeing mine or if someone else had picked them up at the conveyor belt by mistake. With these Rockland bags, the chances of me and someone else on the same flight having the exact same bag are really small, don't you think? In addition, the wheels work great and the color and art design on the outside of the bags have proven to be durable and bright, even a year after purchase and after many uses. I have the Love set with the Britto-esque hearts all over them and I am charmed every time I look at them, and also charmed when I look inside at the pretty pink and white polka dotted lining fabric. It makes me smile every time. Incidentally, the other set I considered purchasing was the Britto by Hays and that cost $1,100 for a comparable set. So this set was way more economically priced at only $160, and really, I consider these bags no less pretty than the Britto, but simply a different graphic design which is quite pretty and striking in its own right. I would buy them again and again and again, if I had occasion to, which I don't, because I'm convinced these will last a good long time. And when I do have to replace them, perhaps in 20 years, I will replace them with more Rockland luggage; perhaps the Pink Pearl set. But that's a long time from now, as I will be enjoying this lovely Love set for many years to come.

RUN Although these are adorable they all break within a year in the wheel area. Warranty, They replace it with a suitcase that doesn’t match your set and when the replacement breaks in the same place way within warranty they refuse to replace it. I bought two sets and both broke in the same place.

Overall I am very pleased with this luggage. I've flown with it twice and so far (knock on wood!) it's held up well. I've also traveled by car on extensive road trips twice and again (knock on wood) it's doing well. It rolls smoothly and the zipper is holding up (gosh...I hope I am not jinxing myself!). :) My biggest disappointment came when I first received the set and began deciding which of the three bags I was going to bring with me to Costa Rica (I could only bring two and didn't want to bring bigger bags than I needed). It was then that I discovered that, given my height (5'8" tall) I don't see myself using the smallest bag (the carry-on) likely EVER. Why? The handle only reaches 27 1/2" high when fully extended whereas my old carry-on bag extends 40" high. The result is that when I attempted to walk with the new carry-on bag behind me it kept hitting the backs of my heels. So it obviously didn't make the journey with me (my old, ratty, carry-on did!). ** UPDATE: Much to my embarrassment, about three months after writing this review I discovered that the handle DOES extend higher, as high as my old one. But it gets stuck really badly and jams and that is why I thought it only went up 27 1/2". And, once I do get it up, getting it back down is a challenge. So, update reads: Handle is long enough but jams easily, especially when trying to fully extend it and put it back down. Now as far as the way you pack these suitcases is concerned: I both like and dislike this. Let me explain: I like it because I can get really organized when packing and it holds a lot quite well. By putting it in a zippered part in the lid as well as the bottom part you can do this. But therein lies the downside as well. Unless you're in a hotel room with A LOT of space where you can lay the bag out flat you quickly get disorganized because you are constantly having to shut the bag and everything in the lid gets messed up. If you're traveling alone and have a spare bed in your hotel room you're in luck! But, since I travel with my hubby and he has a suitcase and his gear (he's a pro photographer) we never seem to have enough room. Opened up like all the way (unfolded) the suitcase does not fit on a traditional suitcase rack that many hotels have for your to use, nor does it fit on most other sorts of spaces provided. That leaves the floor and I can't tell you how many times I've stubbed my toe trying to get around it. My husband had a bag with a similar design and he returned his. I won't because, like I said, I both like and dislike this organizational style and the bag's hard sides and VERY good wheels make up for it. All in all, I would say this is the best bag I've had in years. Now, let's just hope that zipper continues to hold up (and, I have to be honest - I've pushed my luck and had to sit on the suitcase to get it to shut!!).
