Brittle un-sharpenable
Very brittle, unsharpenable. Leads broken in many places in the wooden encasement.

Only 4 stars
I love these pencils and I use them for drawing on toned paper. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because the first pencil I tried to sharpen had no red inside it to sharpen. I think it was a fluke thing. Other than this they are great and I recommend these pencils.

Best ever brand of correcting pencil.Added: My boss the music director of the Basilica used these all the time. This is his favorite brand and the only place I can find them And of course they are a great price.

Breaks easily when sharpened
I like the marks these make but they don’t sharpen easily. I have tried sharpening them with several different sharpeners and the lead breaks off before the point is sharp. Rarely, I can get a point and they mark nicely, but most of the time I have to sharpen the repeatedly before I can get something that writes. I am disappointed in this product, which surprises me because I am normally very pleased with prismacolor products.
