Very solid - looks great!

I just moved into a new home and the office space is pretty small. I had to get rid of my old desk and this one fit the bill and so much more. As far as design goes: I expected this to be made of particleboard, but it's actually a high quality wood! The supports themselves make zero noise and fit perfectly. Since I was working in a small space, this allows me to fold out my table when I work from home. When I'm done, I just tuck the table away with 2 clicks and I instantly have more room. As others mentioned, there are zero instructions here. I'd recommend buying metal wall studs to use here for added support if you don't have any studs to mount this to. Overall it's a lot of value for the money. I would definitely recommend to anyone in a smaller living space as a opposed to a full time stationary desk.

Not the easiest to install, definitely use 2 people. I worked with my wall and where the studs were to space the brackets on the wood. Finish on one side of the shelf was awful, the other side wasn’t bad so I used that side. Makes a nice overflow shelf in my kitchen to cool cookies, or a temporary coffee bar when I have guests. I’m unsure of how much weight it can hold and am thinking of adding another bracket or support in the middle.

This was perfect for a random cut out in my wall. I needed a small bedroom desk with minimalistic configuration. The desk top is solid and allowed for me to mount my Mac mini under the desk for the ultimate clean no show set up. I can rest my arm on it with out worries, the included hardware worked great, I was able to hit the studs on both sides since you can adjust where they go. Overall we are very happy with the quality and look of the desk. We will not be using the folding feature, but it worked perfectly when Initially testing.

So, please don't expect to get what you see in the picture (with regard to finish, etc.). The shelf's concept is great, thus the three stars. That said, the finish that came on the wood was awful and very uneven, bright, and pretty much not anything you'd want in a nice room. It took us two weeks (and two complete sandings down to the wood - trying different finishes) to get the shelf ready for installation. The color now is perfect for going with any "wood focused" room finish, and the marks made while doing the actual finishing add to the rustic feel of the table assembly. The instructions aren't great - it's easy to reverse the application of the bracket (i.e., as to what part to attach to the table and which part to attach to the wall). Just remember the 'long' bracket attaches to the wood. Also - I STRONGLY recommend you mount the brackets to studs - this may mean the bracket is not centered underneath the table, but the overall assembly will be much more sturdy (and safe) as a result. If you do this, just know that only one row of screws will go into the stud (there are two rows each side) - so the extra row will pretty much just be there for decoration. That will make sense once you mount the brackets. With three screws each side going directly into studs, however, you won't have to worry about the table collapsing if someone leans their weight onto the table with their elbows :-) Recommended - but with caveats. Be prepared to refinish the shelf (we used mixwax poly/stain - three coats, followed with butcher's block conditioner - i.e., beeswax, this leaves the table looking natural and not thickly coated, yet it will resist any drink spills, etc. easily), and mount the brackets to studs.

This bar top is sturdy and looks great. The finish is more golden on the unit I received, I don’t mind. I weigh about 160 lbs and I have been able to rest my arms on top while working on my laptop without fearing it’s going to collapse or the hinge system will come loose. It feels like solid wood. Has minor defects but I was able to live with them given the price.
