Spectra vs Medela pump in style.
Using these with my Spectra pump and the maymom Flange adapters, takes advantage of the superior pump of Spectra. These are great, Maymom products are very affordable and all components fit together well. Spectra vs Medela pump in style background: breastfed and pumped for 2 children each for a year with Medela pump in style with no real issues, though the milk filling the tubing was annoying and the valve membranes wore out every now and then and tubing had to be replaced a few times. With #3 learned about the Spectra from people at work and since insurance would cover it I received from them. I've now been using an old Medela and the Spectra with the new baby and have these pros and cons to share. Medela pros: - valves work better (though they are flimsy and membranes need to be replaced sometimes they provide a much better seal) - adjustment is incremental (not leveled) Cons: - tubing gets gross when milk gets into it - missing some of the cool features of spectra Spectra Pros: - backflow protector so tubes always are clean - light for pumping at night or in dark room - timer (very helpful for me so I don't zone out and accidentally pump for 30 mins) - more different types of adjustments that you can play with (this could also be seen as a con depending on your perspective) - "hospital grade" pump - very very quiet (much quieter than the medela) Cons - valves seem to not work as well as the medela - bottle flange doesn't fit standard bottles (like dr. browns) - jumps in the levels can be a bit intense, I've worked up to L5, but I find it hard to handle sometimes, though the higher levels do get more milk faster - The very slight incremental adjustments of the medela are easier - coordinating the cycle length and levels can be a little harder to manage than the simpler adjustments of the medela. Adjustments: I've played around with different configurations, I am now using the Maymom medela valves on the spectra flanges, I plan to get the maymom flange adapter connector piece so that I can use the Medela flanges with the spectra pump. When I use the medela valves on the spectra I get between 1-2 ounces more in a short session 6-7 minutes! If you go with the Medela (which is still a fine option, and worked for me for two years without issue) I would get the spectra backflow protectors to avoid the tubing getting filled with milk, also just plan on buying some more valves. With a smartphone you can mimic some of the features of the spectra there's a great free app "babynursing" to help with timing of breastfeeding sessions and pumping, and a flashlight on the phone can be helpful at night. Good luck!

Great product and customer service
I got a set of these and was having problems with the suction so I contacted customer service with my questions and complaints. I was originally concerned with the fit. They got right back to me saying that there may be a problem with the product since the suction shouldn't be a problem, so they asked for the special item production date which was on the horn part. I gave that number to them and the said that they would ship me another set in the same size to try as well as the 19" 24" and the 22" inserts. I couldn't believe how fast and personal the responses were. I'm talking like responding at 2:00 in the morning to my emails back and forth! They are based over seas but have a local branch here in North Carolina which is nice for contacting purposes. The new product worked perfectly. I even did some research on the company and the testing they did on there products they went through to pass FDA guidelines since the provide copies of the tests on their website. Everything checked out as being legit and official. This a a great new company producing a highly affordable quality product with wonderful customer service. Buy this instead of the name brand. If you have a problem with fit or quality contact them and they will be sure to make you happy!!!

Amazing product, Amazing company!
What a great company to order from! They stand behind their products, and promptly answer any questions/issues you have about their products. They may be a young company, but they have far surpassed most established companies in customer service. I had no idea that the shield/flanges came in different sizes other than the standard 26mm that Medela issues with its pumps. I also didn't realize that the sore, tender, redness I was experiencing was abnormal and meant I was using the wrong size. Enter Maymom. I ordered the 19mm set and they are amazing! No more prolonged redness after pumping, no more sore, tender nips. I can pump the same amount of milk in almost half the time! I am beyond happy with my purchase. So happy that I purchased an extra set of shield/flanges so I had a spare in between washings or to keep at work. If you're going to be a pumping mama, do yourself a favor and measure your nips. I'm telling you, this will make such a difference in your pumping experience! And as an added bonus, there's one less piece to keep track of. The shield is one piece-and I had no issues cleaning it compared to the standard two piece offered by Medela. I also boil water and put them in the sink with soap to soak/sterilize, so I haven't had any issues with cleaning. Also, they fit just fine in a hands free pumping bra....which I didn't really think was a necessity at first, but it really is oh so worth it if you're pumping regularly!

A perfect, cheaper alternative to the name brand parts
I needed an extra set of tubing due to a friend letting me borrow her pump to leave at work. I looked at various tubing options and decided on buying this product since it didn't cost much more than tubing alone and gave me some extra pieces. Initially I was hesitant because I thought it might be better to go with the "Medela" brand pieces, I was worried about quality with these. Rest assured, these are just as good! Tubing: The tubing is identical, except the cream colored part is a VERY slightly different shade of cream. No big deal. I ran some water through it and let it air dry for a couple days before use. Breastshield/connector: This piece I wasn't sure I was going to use much. I was very concerned with cleaning it. Specifically, I worried I couldn't get my little nipple brush in all the parts. This is actually easier to clean though. With the Medela one at the bottom where the yellow piece connects there are all these little sections it's hard to get the brush in. This Maymom brand doesn't have all those little areas. I usually throw them in the dishwasher. Valves and membranes: The yellow valves have a slightly different pattern on them, but they function exactly the same. I can't even remember which of my valves are Medela versus this brand. It's nice having the extras this came with. The membranes are the same. Those little buggers get lost pretty easily, so it's nice having some extras of those as well. The only downside is they aren't compatible with some pumping bras. I was doing the home hack of using a sports bra with holes cut out. This product definitely didn't fit in there. I don't think it would fit with my old Medela pumping bra (which I hated and returned). Now I purchased Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breastpump Bra, Pink, XS-L and this all-in-one breastshield actually works with that bra. I don't like to use it though because I'm worried it will stretch out the holes. I like to pump quickly in the morning after my first feed to get all the extra milk out from the night before. This is a very brief pumping session and I use the all-in-one for this time since I don't take the time to put a pumping bra on. If you're looking for tubing and extra parts I absolutely recommend this product. The price is perfect and you get a lot of parts. I have recommended this to some friends and they are happy with the product as well. Update: I used thees for almost a year and never had any problems with them. I've even sold a few sets for Maymom by getting my friends to buy them. It's just such an amazing deal for everything you get. I had absolutely zero problems or complaints other than it not fitting in my nursing bra. I actually lost my milk on one side at about 7 months in and just pumped on one side, so it was easy just to hold it with one hand. I am still nursing my 16 month old, but trying to wean right now. I highly recommend this set if you're looking for lots of parts at a good price.

One-piece shields/valves are hard with hands-free bra!
Being able to change out PISA parts frequently without having to pay top-dollar for Medela-branded parts is fantastic. I have ordered a few different products by Maymom and have been happy with the quality and even more happy with the price. No problems with compatibility. Regarding this purchase, I wish I had seen that the breastshields and the part that connects to the valve are a single piece, unlike the Medela parts that have them as 2 pieces. I use a hands-free pumping bra (the Medela one) and yes, you can fit the bottom part through the holes in the bra but it's kind of a pain. I pump with Lansinoh Thera-Pearls around the shields and those are even harder to get on once you've got the valve parts through the bra holes. And screwing on the bottles from "underneath" while you're looking top-down at them is difficult. I gave up trying to use these because I just got too worried I was going to unscrew the bottle and spill milk everywhere. Which we all know is something that IS worth crying about. The rest of the parts are great (and by themselves are worth the price of purchase) but if you're buying this kit mainly for the breastshields then just know they're not that easy to use with a hands-free pumping bra.

good subsitute!
I was looking for spare breastshields recently . It was unrealistic how expensive Medela's replacement breastshields were. I was not ready to pay such a high price so I kept looking until I found these. This kit works great with my Medela Pump In Style Advanced pump. It contains everything you need to get started except for the bottles. This kit has everything that you will need in spare for the pump for such a NICE price!! The shipment arrived in good time and was well sealed. So far I have used shields and tubing and they work great. The only thing is shield is one piece but super easy to clean and works every bit as well as the original version. Thank you "Maymom" to make these so affordable for nursing moms like me. I highly recommend making your life easier by purchasing at least one of these sets if you pump, especially at work.

Perfect kit for Medela Pump replacement/spare parts!
When I had my first son, I ordered a set of breastshields from Maymom because the ones that came with my Medela pump did not fit correctly. The service was fast and the product fit perfectly. Recently, someone gifted me an extra Medela pump for returning to work with my second son. I ordered this kit because I needed spare parts for that pump. What a wonderful kit this is! Not only did it include the correct size breastshields, it came with extra tubing, 4 valves and membranes in a really handy case, and extra connectors. It also came with a small brush that can be used for cleaning. All in all, this kit included everything I needed for a great value and even some handy extra that were pleasantly unexpected. I wish I would have bought this full kit for my first son as it has everything you need for spare or replacement parts for your Medela breast pump.

Maymom vs. Medela
The product itself was comparable to medela when I used it altogether but I rotate thru 3 sets throughout the day, 2 medela and 1 Maymom. By rotate I mean I wash all my parts and just grab whatever regardless of brand connect it all and go. When I used the Maymom valves on the medela shields the fit wasn't as snug. SIde by side the maymom valves are ever so slightly bigger. The maymom membrane on the medela valves seemed like they were slightly too big. The tubing worked on the medela just fine. My one big piece of advice. PAY ATTENTION TO SIZE! I figured 1 mm wouldn't make a difference but IT DOES! I ordered 25mm and my regular ones were 24mm. Everytime I used the 25mm my output was lower. I don't think using Maymom vs. medela was the culprit. I also used an Ameda and those were 25mm. I was getting the same output. Only then I thought it was because of the pump. Turns out it was the size of the shield.
