An absolute must if you have furry pets. We actually enjoy vacuuming now.
How did I live this long without this? I had a Dyson Animal upright for about 10 years. I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT. Waste of money. It didn't seem to pick up or do anything as well as my previous upright vacuum (brand started with an E) and the hose coming out of the handle was a complete nightmare. It made things look only relatively clean and it was a huge pain. I was very hesitant to pay even more for another vacuum, but the reviews for Miele are stellar, so I looked into it more. People who also hated Dyson were huge fans. I had thought it was just us that had a bad Dyson experience. After much research into which vacuum would work for us, I decided on this canister pet. When I first told my husband about my research, he was not thrilled with the result. He pointed to the Dyson and how the $450 had been wasted on that. He also didn't think that those charcoal filter were all that there were touted to be. But I led him through the my research of every Miele vacuum and he also ended up thinking this was definitely the one to get. It was the Electro plus electro brush that made the most difference. The other brushes are powered by air. We did not think those were going to pick up cat and dog fur. It is very similar to the model in the same price range (Kona). The cat/dog one includes the charcoal filter and a Mini Turbo Brush for about $20 more. This year the cat/dog one is white and the Kona is a beautiful black. On the first use, I powered it on, set it to the rug looking icon and was in complete awe that this Electro plus brush picked up everything in my rug in one pass that the Dyson struggled to get in 4 or more passes. The rug was actually looking new! I was immediately sold on it. I showed my husband and he actually said "Why have we been wasting our time with that other vacuum when this existed?" The Mini Turbo brush is powered by air and as soon as it hit the dog bed or chairs it does about 2 rotations and is out of steam. It does pick up the dog hair, it just takes a few minutes. I will have to learn the trick to get this one to perform more efficiently. The Parquet Twister is nice. Very soft and glides over the wood floors. Generous swivel. Love it. The other attachments are standard. It is great that they are inside the canister instead of outside as in the past I would drop a few if they are attached on the outside. It is nowhere near as loud as other vacuums. The Electro plus brush is a bit louder when it is switched on, but it is nice that you can turn it off at the handle quickly. I love how I can use my foot to easily remove the Electro plus brush head and quickly move to using the hose. When going under the chairs or tables, I have found that rotating the handle to the right or left as I lean down slightly makes it so that the brush part does not lift from the rug as it goes under. You can vary the height on the Electro brush, this is great when we go from a thicker rug to a thinner rug. It can still get clean but not suck up into the vacuum and make horrible noises. If it is too low, it just stops the brush, no horrible noise. The hose extender is nice for reaching to the ceiling. Very easy to adjust. The ability to have different speeds for different items is nice. The whole vacuum is quite cute and not very big. Easily fits in the closet, but also looks nice when in the living room. The cord auto retract is a nice feature, but the speed it retracts at can be slightly hazardous for animals in the area. (Yeah, it is not scary loud now, so they actually stick around.) I keep a hold on the cord until it gets close to the canister. It has bags rather than bagless. This is fine, the Dyson seemed to always look dirty in the tube part. This vacuum tells how full the bag is so you don't overfill, but only when the vacuum is on. There is also one to tell you when to replace the filter. UPDATE: This bag filled up in a month during the shedding season. If you have a long hair dog (it got super warm and ours had his coat blow just a week we got this) get extra bags when you order this. The bags aren't very big. We got the canister model rather than the upright because we have stairs now and ease of transport is important. You can bring the canister and the brush attachments up separately and not worry about the weight/awkwardness. We love that we can now see the rugs actual color (the one we thought was faded is actually bright red!) and if there is fur in the corner (dog sheds like crazy twice a year), we can easily get the vacuum out. If you are iffy, I would test one at a local sew & vac or carpet store.

#1 Vacuum Cleaner
I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone who provides cleaning services or for home use. Personally, I love the Miele brand; it's super durable, and in my experience as a cleaning company owner, I only use this vacuum cleaner because of its superior performance and quality. The carpet attachment vacuums incredibly well, with better suction than any other vacuum cleaner. I love it because it leaves carpets and floors looking absolutely spotless. It's especially great because it has a cat and dog filter that helps keep the vacuum free of unpleasant odors. This vacuum cleaner works perfectly if you have pets; its suction is excellent. If you're looking for a good and durable vacuum cleaner, I highly recommend this one.

This is magic!
I recently purchased the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog Canister Vacuum, and I couldn't be happier with my investment. As a pet owner with a house full of furry companions and a son who runs a car detailing business, I needed a vacuum that could handle the toughest cleaning tasks effortlessly. The Miele C3 has exceeded my expectations in every way. One of the standout features of this vacuum is its remarkable ability to tackle pet hair with zero effort. I have three dogs and two cats, and their fur seems to find its way into every corner of my home. With the Miele C3, I no longer have to struggle with pesky hair on my floors and furniture. The powerful suction and specialized tools make quick work of pet hair, leaving my home looking spotless. It's a game-changer for pet owners, and the relief it brings is immeasurable. The multiple power settings are another aspect that sets this vacuum apart. I love the flexibility it offers. I can switch between different power levels depending on the surface I'm cleaning, from delicate area rugs to high-traffic areas. The adjustable power settings ensure that I can clean efficiently without causing any damage. What's even more impressive is how versatile this vacuum is. My son, who runs a car detailing business, swears by the Miele C3 for his work. Its powerful suction and a wide range of attachments make it ideal for car interiors. He no longer struggles with pet hair, dust, or debris in the vehicles he cleans. The Miele C3 helps him maintain a professional touch that keeps his customers coming back for more. In addition to its exceptional cleaning performance, the Miele C3 is built to last. It feels sturdy and durable, and the quality of the materials is evident. In conclusion, the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog Canister Vacuum is a must-have for pet owners and detailing enthusiasts alike. Its ability to effortlessly clean up pet hair, multiple power settings, and versatility make it a valuable addition to any household or business. It's been a game-changer for me and my son's car detailing business. I can't recommend it enough!

Best vacuum. Price still unreasonable.
This vacuum deserves 5 stars. Except that it costs about $1,200. It is genuinely a premium product. It is quieter than comparable models, and it leaks a little less smell. It is designed to be about as convenient as this form factor can be. But it feels like a $750 vacuum, in a world where the competitors cap out at $600. Only reason I'd recommend it: You overthink appliance purchases and the value of "not having to worry if you got the right one" is greater than the $450 more than it should cost. Which, in my case, was why I bought it.

Magic Cleaning Machine Worth Every Penny
I got my new Miele four hours ago. I just spent three and half of those hours vacuuming almost every surface in our house. This thing is magic. Background: Husband and I both work long hours, we've got two Maine Coons, and we're remodeling an old house. On top of that, I struggle with both ADD and depression, so I have two speeds - either EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE or constantly sleeping - and cleaning is not always a priority. Needless to say, between cat hair and sawdust, our house is pretty gross most of the time. When I bought our Dyson Animal five years ago, it was the most expensive thing I'd ever purchased. I did a ton of research and read all the reviews. Immediately out of the box, I hated it - it has a tendency to blow dust AWAY from the nozzle - but I figured I'd give it some time and maybe I'd come around. Lately it's had zero suction despite my best attempts at cleaning it, and when my sister said she loved her Miele, I figured I'd check it out. This was not an easy purchase. This thing costs more than my current vehicle. It is worth every penny. Where my Dyson was an apathetic beast at best, the Miele came out of the box fully assembled, licked its lips, and proceeded to devour debris in corners I didn't know this house had. My couch actually changed color. (Apparently it was covered in drywall dust.) The Miele sucked sawdust out from between the joints in the wood flooring. It ate half a rug before I figured out how to adjust the height on the power rotor, and once I had the setting corrected, sucked an OLD STAIN OUT OF THE RUG. I had no idea that was possible. Cat hair disappears into its predatory maw. The last time our floors were this clean, the contractors were putting swedish finish on them. The Miele is QUIET. Our apartment days are behind us, so noise isn't so much an issue, but holy hell is this nice. This vacuum powers up like something out of Star Trek, with a gradual quiet hum. Even on its highest setting, it is quieter than our microwave. I could hear my cell phone vibrate on the coffee table while I was vacuuming the living room. Husband came in and actually asked, "Is it on?" PROS: Everything. It's quiet. It's LIGHT. I think my laptop is heavier, but despite being easy to haul up the stairs, the Miele doesn't feel fragile; after years of growling every time the Dyson's telescoping handle collapsed in on itself, the Miele feels incredibly sturdy. It cleans like a dream - with two longhair cats, there were enough dust bunnies under the couch to knit a sweater, and the Miele didn't even blink, just slurped them down like nothing. It's incredibly agile - it follows you around like an attentive dog, ready for the next task. I love the onboard tools - no more scratching your head trying to remember where you last saw the crevice attachment. The adjustable suction is amazing - I was able to vacuum the heavy-duty door mat, and then turn around, adjust the suction, and vacuum the curtains without pulling them off the wall. The range of motion on the tools is also incredible - I was able to vacuum around the couch legs and under tables without having do do any painful contortions. The air in the house SMELLS cleaner, and even after three hours of vacuuming, my throat doesn't hurt like it usually does. When it comes time to empty the bag, I can just lift it out and throw it away - I won't have to deal with dumping a canister of aerosolized drywall and cat litter into the garbage can, blowing back in my face no matter which way the wind is blowing. (That alone is worth a thousand dollars, let me tell you.) CONS: Costs about as much as your firstborn, and possibly also your leg. Overall: This is literally the most expensive thing I have ever purchased after the house itself, and oh my god it's worth it. As a remodeler, I understand the value in having the right tool for the job, and this vacuum just earned its keep. Four hours in, and I regret nothing. This is going to make cleaning SO MUCH EASIER and you can't put a price on that. UPDATE 11/26/2019 It's been four years now and I still love this vacuum. It's been a study little workhorse. Sometimes I am terrible and too lazy to get the shopvac, so I feed construction debris to the Miele. Clogged nozzle aside, it doesn't even blink. The motor runs as quietly and efficiently as the day it arrived. It has a few scuffs and battle scars, but none of the plastic pieces are broken. I regularly change the bag and the filters, and purchased a new brush attachment because because the bristles had gotten too worn on the old one, but otherwise baby is always good to go. 100/10.

Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog — Great at First, But Suction Failed
I purchased the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog because of all the glowing reviews, the reputation for long-term reliability, and the promise of powerful pet-hair cleaning. Day one, it lived up to everything—excellent suction, quiet motor, glided across carpets and hard floors like a dream. I was thrilled and figured I finally found “the one.” Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived. Shortly after, the suction dropped dramatically. I’ve tried everything—new bags, checking hoses and seals, cleaning filters, and even taking the unit apart to ensure nothing was blocking airflow. Still no improvement. For something this expensive, I expected consistency and longevity, not mystery performance issues. It’s disappointing because so many people seem to have wonderful experiences with this model, so I genuinely wonder if I received a defective unit. I wanted to love this vacuum, and I gave it every chance, but now I’m seriously considering returning it and going back to Dyson, which has always been more reliable for me personally. I really hope Miele reaches out or offers troubleshooting beyond the basics, because I invested a lot into this and truly wanted it to work out.

Amazing suction and no regrets!
This vacuum is so powerful- I’m in awe. We use it on wood, tile, and carpet- it’s pulling up things we had no idea were in there. It’s easy to pull around and the cord length is more than ample. I’m really impressed and happy we took the plunge to invest in this!

It does not disappoint.
Unquestionably, the best vacuum I have owned. We have 3 Samoyeds which shed endlessly, and they are inside and out all day long. We've owned this vacuum for 8 years, and other than bag and filter replacements, never an issue--and honestly, we best on it pretty hard. It's got great power--there are times I'm shocked at what it picks up. Noise is average to me--I don't find it to be louder or quieter than other vacuums I've had (Hoover, Dyson). It's relative movable with ease, but I will admit, when going around furniture or walls, the main unit can get stuck if I'm not directing it actively. There is one thing I don't like--I hate bags. These are actually quite small and when dealing with big dogs with long fur, bags go quick. And they are not cheap. That is the only thing that I liked about my Dyson was no bags. This is not a cheap vacuum, and neither are bags and filters. There are definitely a few things about it that I don't think are perfect (especially for $1000)--but I don't know if a better vacuum exists. The reviews here are good for a reason. It's a good vacuum.
