Q: Why is there no extended warranty available, while there is on the standalone lock?

All of our locks have a 1 year electronic warranty and a lifetime warranty on finish and mechanical. The lever that comes with this bundle has a lifetime warranty.

Q: Need for my business door for dual purpose - need open mode for customers to come/go but assign codes to employee for after hrs use. Will it do that?

It will do both. You can unlock it with your phone for customers and assign codes by name for the employees and also see a log in the August app of who used their codes and when

Q: How long do the batteries typically last with WiFi?

About 6 months. The unit will notify you when the batteries are getting low. Springing for Lithium batteries gives a little longer life

Q: With no key at all, what if it malfunctions. How do you unlock?

There are two prongs that you can touch a 9v battery to to unlock.
