As a dog walker and pet sitter, I work with dogs and cats all day long. My skin has thinned over the years due to a certain medication I've been taking for 15 years. If a dog or cat just barely scratches me, my skin tears and I bleed all over the place - I'm on aspirin also. I already had a pair of Kevlar sleeves but these are heavier duty, (although lightweight to wear) which I needed to give a very fresh cat insulin injections twice a day. No cat scratches or bites got through. Also, dogs, big and little, jump up on me and get me with their ragged nails. They could claw at me all day long and I would be injury free. A knife point won't get through these either. They are now my go to sleeves for meet and greets where I don't know how their dogs act, not so nice cats, and dogs that I know like to jump on me! THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

I bought a pair of these a couple of years ago. Now, I didn't TRY to destroy them as some have, so they're holding up really well. They have "saved my bacon" many times while doing yard work and other household projects. I really appreciate how protective they are. Mine are a little older and have the individual finger spaces stitched, instead of being open for all fingers to fit in. Being open as shown here would make them easier to get on and off, I would think. Mine fit quite snugly because of the fingers and require a bit of work to get off. One downside, if you can call it that, is that the fabric, once you're a bit sweaty, requires a bit of effort to work it down the arm and get off. The upside of that is it stays in place very well. I like 'em and am grateful I found them!

These sleeves do exactly what I want. Protect me from my "fractious" cat. I loaned them to the visiting vet tech when kitty had his checkup and vaccine. She was impressed and unscathed as well. As for "heat resistance," I have no idea. BTW throw them in the washer (but not dryer) and they work equally well after.

The protection from these sleeves is very good. I have medium size arms (11 inches / 28 cm around the largest part of my forearm) and the sleeves are too tight, so they need a larger size. These sleeves have a large extension which covers too much of the hand area, and should be shorter like other brands.

I bought these to use for prevention of bruising on hands and arms when doing manual labor( I have thin skin due to sun damage and aging) very effective. The thumb opening is a little uncomfortable because of the thread used in stitching, but this is very subjective depending on how they fit each person.

Protects against burns as well as cuts..My team loves the sleeve.
