Smoky & Woody Cologne with notes of Cedar and Campfire - The Badlands Cologne by Outlaw - Men's or Women's Cologne

I rarely write reviews but wanted to share how INCREDIBLE this scent is.Let's start off by saying I am female but have always been drawn to very earthy, woodsy scents. They settle best with my chemistry upon dry down and I am always on the hunt for a great product. After stalking the website for months I finally decided to purchase The Badlands scent due to its descriptive. I adore smoky, fire, earthy scents and have struggled to find one that truly depicts that, especially after dry down on my skin. Boy...does this one do an awesome job of mimicking that campfire, ashy, cindery smell I love so much. It goes on true to scent and dried down with a slight sweet hint on my skin. My husband came home from work and I stuck my my arm out and said "smell!". He asked if I had cleaned out the wood stove! BINGO! IN LOVE! We are from Alaska and this scent is everything that our life is. Oh...and can I say the shipping was so FAST! Plus they were kind enough to put samples of soaps in my package, which of course I need them all now!! I will be going back to purchase Blazing Saddles for my husband as well! I don't like a lot of men's cologne, nor does my fiancé. I got him hooked on the soaps this brand makes, and decided to get him a bottle of this for his birthday. For reference the only only cologne he is open to wearing is Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford, which is like $300 per bottle. I would rate these scents as equivalent to the Tom Ford manly leathery masculine scent I love so much on a man. This particular cologne smells like a campfire in a really good way. We love Blazin Saddles and Fire in the Hole too, as those are the soaps he most frequently buys. Every single product this company makes is amazing, and apparently they're a small business run by a couple which we think is really nice :) Please if you enjoy and love their products, I encourage you all to come forward and give them awesome reviews to help keep them in business forever!

smelled nothing like smoke or wood and the odor lasted only a few minutes before evaporating. Clearly mostly alcohol with little actual scent. Severely OVERPRICED

This stuff truly stinks lol it’s like concentrated cinnamon

When it comes to a fragrance i feel it is highly subjective though there needs to be a bit of a connection with the public to be the real deal. Other factors make colognes something that can be super particular to the user hence all of the many brands available. One of the things that make fragrances hard for me to like is my sensitivity to them due to having sensitive skin. I also will be affected by a cologne that it too strong. I think there is a bit of a placebo effect sometimes because i remember having bad experiences with aunts who wore super strong fragrances. My bad experiences with those strong scents may also play a part in my there are a good deal of colognes i do not like. With this strange cologne from the Outlaw brand under the titled Badlands i have found the perfect example of a fragrance i stay away from. I do not like giving bad review and essentially think a bad review is a flawed concept. I think this because every one is different in their opinion but this cologne seems very strong to me to the point of feeling confident in my pointing out of what i feel are negative elements of this scent. I do want to point out that this independent company seems legit and the owners seem nice from the picture of them included on a card in the box. I want to point out that the packaging is very classy and as good as any higher end cologne i have ever purchased. The price of this bottle makes this a decent quality by default. I mentioned i am not a fan of this scent but i will point out that this is a robust olfactory experience and i was able to detect many outdoor type of scents. There is a strong leather presence which i like but there is an augmentation to the leathery smell like a faux leather jacket was placed in a oven then mixed with some kind of spice like licorice and curry to give an very strange end result that is literally piercingly present to the senses. I have respect for this company and do not want to go on about what i interpret as negative qualities of this scent. To summarize i feel this fragrance is overwhelming in a bad way though i encourage each individual to make their own judgment.

Leaking bottle when arrived had to reordered

Yes I’m returning it, but why did I give it five stars? If you really truly want to smell like a campfire then this cologne is for you. I suppose I thought that it would not be a literal smoky smell but maybe a cologne-like smoky smell, no, you smell like you sat next to a campfire. if you wanna spend the weekend in Vegas with strippers and convince your wife that you were camping with the buddies, great cologne. If you want to literally smell like a campfire, great cologne. If you want something that smells like cologne, this is not for you. This is not a negative review, this company nailed it if that’s what you’re looking for. Unfortunately it’s not for me.

Best smelling cologne I've ever had
