Fast & Fresh Baby Food Cookbook: 120 Ridiculously Simple and Naturally Wholesome Baby Food Recipes Review: Excellent book for nutritious and easy baby food! - I was very pleased with this book. It explains how to make fresh baby food for your baby, at whatever age they are. The author explains how to choose the best produce and ingredients for your baby's food so that it is not full of chemicals and preservatives. I was really suprised how easy the recipes are, and the suggestion of freezing the baby food uning ice cube trays and then putting the frozen portions in a bag with the date and name of the food on the bag is just wonderful. This book also goes through what foods are safe to introduce at what ages. Some of the recipes sound really good, something I think adults would eat! The author also included the list of what foods to never buy unless they are organic, and the ones that are ok if you can't find them in organic. I was surprised to see apples on the list of the dirty foods, ones that are sprayed with to many pesticides and that the chemicals they are treated with can be found in the fruits. I will be looking for local and organic apples from now on. The finger foods section is perfect. It explains what never to give your toddler, and explains the behaviors that may frustrate parents trying to feed their toddler the best food available. The author goes into detail on what size the pieces should be cut into for finger foods, what not to give them, and ideas on how to introduce new finger foods. This book is a perfect reference for easily making quality baby food for your baby. These foods are healthier than you can buy in the little glass jars, and they are cheaper since you can make a batch ahead of time and freeze it. I have a cousin having a baby soon, so I will be getting her her own copy of this book. I will also be keeping it as a great reference and inspiration for some of our own foods. Review: A new way of thinking about Baby Food! - This is such a great book, especially for expectant young mothers, who, in today's fast-paced society would probably never think that making their own baby food would even be an option. Besides the yummy recipes, there is a wealth of other pertinent information, including important definitions and preparation techniques, ideas on how and when to introduce new foods and in what order, (for best digestion and assimilation)...the advantages of buying organic foods, how to identify and prevent allergic reactions...many things that a brand new mom wouldn't even be aware of. I love the list of Super Foods...with the exact reasons why these have been included in the prestigious list! I have included them in my own grocery shopping for my family (no babies anymore!) just because I think its so important for us to all be aware of the advantages of eating the foods from this list. This is just the best gift ever...whether for a brand new mom (or dad) or a more seasoned mom (or dad) who wants to do things a little differently this time around. It is a thorough, thoughtful and easy read that will open up a whole new world of infant nutrition. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Very helpful!
Wow! I wish I had this book when my children were babies! We live in a day and age where so many foods are full of chemicals, preservatives and tons and tons of unpronounceable ingredients that it has become a daily struggle to find something wholesome and fresh to serve ourselves and our families. As a mother, we want to be certain we serve our babies the very best of everything...this book helps you to do that! It teaches about fresh foods, frozen foods, superfoods, the correct way to cook foods, the timetable to start introducing different foods, safe ways to prepare, serve and store foods and even has many delicious recipes, too. As a new mother, it can sometimes be scary deciding what is best to feed your baby and when you make changes. Thanks to this book, those decisions might be a little easier on innumerable parents from now on! This book should be a required gift at every baby shower! Informative, great read!

Great info for Parents
I was pleasantly surprised by the content of this book. I honestly thought that I wouldn't find anything helpful, and if you wanted to make your own baby food all you have to do is puree some food up! The book listed the top 15 foods with the most pesticides (good info for anyone) as well as the top safest foods. Also surprising to me was the section on frozen vs. fresh. The book explained how sometimes frozen foods are best and which foods can be frozen well. This book breaks down the different types of cooking methods that can be used to prepare your own food for your baby. It also outlines everything you need before you start. I shared this book with my friend that has a 9month old (1st child) and she loves how easy the book is to read as well as how clear everything is laid out for you. Another nice thing is that the book breaks down the different age groups and when to introduce different foods to your baby. There are also neat ideas like how to make "macaroni and cheese" and pizza for your little one. My friend loved that at the end of every recipe the book gives you how long the food can be stored in both fridge and freezer as well as a few lines for your own notes. Overall this book has a lot of great ideas for recipes and meal plans and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in preparing their own food for their baby or toddler. I was given this book at no charge for my honest review.

Not mentioning the fact that it's completely American style of weaning and measurements, there is not a single picture of the food you were meant to make included...none...in a cookbook!

The recipes are interesting and easy to do. You can save money by preparing your own food and knowing exactly what you put inside it is reassuring. A great book to start babies on solids. I definitely recommend it.
