This whole series is great. Recommend for anyone over the age of 8 or 10, depending on how mature the reader, as some of them can get quite intense - parents beware if your child is reading well beyond their age, some of these books have addiction to drugs, death, beatings, all sorts of stuff. I suggest you read first, to make sure your child is up to it. Any one over the age of 12 will love them. (I'm 26)

all the Ranger series
As a mature aged adult, people may think that reading books such as the ranger series must be slightly mad; I can only say that, apart from a wonderful fantastic story, it can be quite funny at times but still providing a great storyline. Think of it more as a fictional medieval saga, when people did believe in peculiar beasties and knights etc. Yes, it probably does have more appeal to a younger audience but believe me after a full day working on a computer dealing with some of the horrible things happening now, only the weapons have gotten more sophisticated - mankind hasn't really changed all that much though for all the so called progress. We all need a little fantasy now and again.

Oakleaf Bearers
Excellent book...However, I purchased it at a enormously elevated price. I didn't realize that Oakleaf Bearers is simply the 4th book in the Ranger's Apprentice Series but with a different title. (It has been released in the USA for awhile and can easily be purchased. I thought it was a new book in the series that I hadn't heard of and bought it at 5x the normal price...my fault.) Love the book, though. Great author!!!

good
This book is a great read for people over 9 years, I wouldn't be surprised either if an adult liked it.

I love rangers apprentice!
I thought this book was a great follow on from the other books. I am not sure wether to go to the fifth book next or the seventh. The reviews say I should go to seven first. In conclusion, I love the series.

Ranger's Apprentice 4: Oakleaf Bearers
Once again a rattling good yarn. Adventures & perils abound. Heroes & Heroines. The only shortcoming is the short length of the tale but as it is written with the intention of being read by 12 yr olds, I can see the reasoning in this. Not that you have to be 12 yrs old. I am 70 yrs old and thoroughly enjoy all the tales.

Nice episode to the story.
A nicely written, and captivating episode of the series, introducing the psuedo-mongols ad resolving some of the issues with the northmen.
