Black Urethane Spray-On Truck Bed Liner & Texture Coating, Protective Paint for Tailgates & Trucks, Vehicle Undercoating, 1 Gallon

This product is awesome! My trucks clear coat was all sunroached and I was getting embarrassed driving it around. I found the U-Pol product online and used a local paint supplier to purchase the blue color paint I was wanting to mix in. 90% of the project was in the prep work sanding, taping everything, and then self etching primer in the bare metal spots, and the adhesion spray along the edges and corners. I ended up using 10 bottles to do my entire pickup and canopy shell. Used my 6 gallon pancake compressor set at 70 psi to get the texture I liked, and went to town spraying. Applied two regular coats with about 90 mins between coats, and then added a third coat that was basically to try to get a finer texture. In the end the truck looks brand new, and cost substantially less by doing it myself. A few suggestions. Don’t use plastic to cover anything if you’re going to get any product spray on it and then drag your air hose over it because the plastic will stick to the hose. This turns into a huge distraction while you’re trying to spray. I ended up using brown painting paper from Lowe’s. Lastly, if you mix 10% tint into the base with the recommended amount of hardener it will be too full to put the spray gun in without it overflowing. I did some math and subtracted 10% off everything and weighed it so I’d keep the consistency the same. So I basically wasted 10% of base and hardener, but that was easier than using a bowl to mix the stuff in and then pour what I could back in the bottle. I believe the best solution would be for U-Pol the make the bottle slightly bigger to accommodate 10% tint. Overall I’m very satisfied with the product and how it turned out, but there was definitely a learning curve with the mixing and spraying to get the texture I wanted.

I used this to weather protect the roof of our van. I found a custom color tint that was easy to mix into this product. I chose to rollon using Raptor Liner's rollon kit and found it easy to work with. I scuffed the paint with a scotch pad for to help with the liner bonding and cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Using painters tape and plastic drop cloth to mask, after about 2 hours after the second coat, I easily removed the tape to get a clean line between the factory paint. I may do the vans rocker panels at some point but would likely spray for a smoother more consistent finish where the rollon was perfectly fine for a coarser finish on the roof.

I use it to undercoat cars. Since it is a catalyzed product, the only safe way to breath is with a supplied air respirator. You have to at least have a full face mask, as this stuff has some bad ass elements that will float in the air that you really will regret breathing. Excellent product, works better than advertised. Super durable, will not scar or gouge. Totally encapsulates whatever you spray it on. I cant emphasize enough about no breathing this stuff. Highly dangerous and will mess up your sense of smell for months. Besides that its the best product for bedliners or undercoating that money can buy. There is none better, anywhere.

Raptor liner is awesome stuff if you know how to use it and apply it. You will need a shutz gun to spray it and add hardener to only the quarts as you use them one at a time. This does not have the quarter inch build up of a traditional spray in liner like Rhino liner or Line-X. This is much thinner and the texture can be changer by the amount of p.s.i. in the gun. This stuff is water proof though so Its great for the underside of vehicles or wheel houses or trailer fenders etc. . You must clean and scuff what you are planning to coat with it so there is some prep that must be followed but you can use it even if you have a small compressor. Raptor liner also has a tintable liner that is awesome! Check it out! I've shot this stuff for years and it still looks great years later.

This product was very easy to use and the finish it had looked amazing on the vehicle. This is not like the cheap truck bed coating that doesnt look good. Also it holds up very well and does not crack after time. I highly recommend this product.
