Then I became aware of his webpage and Instagram account! Both are extremely helpful as they focus on overall health: mind, body and spirit! Last week, I listed to Dr. Axe on the Ultimate Health Podcast. It was one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. So much so that I’ve listened to it three times and sent it to many people! Dr. Axe shared a lot of what is in this book. He has a positive, holistic approach to health and life and it’s contagious! This book is powerful because it’s about “clean” Keto and gives many reasons why a Keto Diet can be advantageous for optimal health! I am grateful for his approach because he also mentions the importance of a spiritual routine and how that impacts stress levels and life. I appreciate that he keeps in mind that everyone is different and needs different plans based on their goals and health needs. He provides and explains multiple plans with sample menus for people who are looking to lose weight and improve their health, people who are looking to fast, people who choose a vegan diet, a cancer plan and my fave chapter, “Forever Keto Cycling Plan”. This is my favorite chapter because it addresses how to actually sustain Keto to promote long term success. He shares Chelsea’s (his wife) experience and also shares how his brother handles carb cycling! With all that said, I am probably most impressed by the wonderful recipes that are EASY to make and follow! I can’t wait to make the Keto pancakes or the slow cooker beef and broccoli. Finally, I always appreciate an approach that’s honest, focused on overall health and written in a way that’s easy to understand! Dr. Axe’s book is genuine and engaging because he refers to himself, family members and friends as examples which helps readers connect and better understand how it may work for them! Before this book, Keto seemed very complex to me but this book really helped break everything down well so I could sustain it in my life. My hubby loves the keto diet! He says it’s the easiest diet he has tried and can see himself doing it long term. I appreciate that the book doesn’t endorse his own supplements but is very balanced about providing info on general supplements that will help boost the effect of keto. I believe supplements have a very important role in our diet so I’m very glad he included that in the book. Overall, love it and use it daily!!

Great Book! Bought 3 to share with loved ones!
Such a great book! I love that it is easy to follow, understand and implement. Love the recipes in the back and the sample meal plans! Wish they did show macro/ calories for recipes tho. Best book on Keto, I wish I could give this a 4.5 star rating!
I'm a big fan of Dr. Axe and his newest book Keto Diet doesn't disappoint. It's chockful of information and medical studies. I've read some other books on Keto and this one takes the cake. I also love how it's not all about weight loss (though it is a big part of it) but he discusses keto's benefit for brain health, hormones, and cancer. He also shares various plan options for your needs whether you are a vegan or battling cancer. I also liked there is a section on intermittent fasting and how it works well with keto. At the end of the book, he talks about keto cycling which I have heard both sides from different sources. I think it's a good plan for the long haul. I don't know if cycling carbs twice a week will work for everyone. I think for me it will end up in disaster lol. Maybe twice a month.... I think everyone will be different with that. I am going to start his plan in March and I will update with how it goes. BTW I have PCOS so I am really curious to see how it helps. Now, why 4 stars instead of 5.... If I could I would give 4.5 stars but Amazon doesn't allow that. In his recipes especially the smoothies he recommends his keto collagen, keto protein powder, bone broth power etc. That's great and all but what if we can't afford it, or don't like it, or we run out. It would have been nice if he would give us another option where we don't have to buy a blend or what happens if we are out. Like if he could have written next to it "or 2 tablespoons of college and 1 tablespoon of MTC oil." <--- that's just a random example don't take that to heart! That's my only real issue with the book. Otherwise, it's a fantastic book! Thank you, Dr. Axe!! God Bless :D

Reversed rising blood sugar for me!
This gets 5 stars because I’ve read and followed this, and listened to it in the Audible version, and find 1) you don’t need to be bogged down with calorie/carb counts, just follow the guidelines, and 2) like most people, I physically and mentally benefit from super healthy fats, medium levels of nutrient dense protein, and no starches or processed foods. This is Keto done with great science, well explained so you can follow the lifestyle. My insulin resistance has been reversed- no more pre-diabetes - due to this lifestyle. It helps if you love avocados and salmon, but the information means you can use any food or brand of Keto collagen (not just his) if you want to read a label and choose swaps. Dr. Josh Axe has the science, the organized plan, the recipes, and the positivity that makes this successful. Keto Fat Bomb recipe, in the muffin tin, is delicious!

I'm not the right client for his program.
I was super excited to get Keto Diet and I preordered it and got it the day it came out. I've been following Keto for the past year with moderate success. I follow Dr. Axe on social media and I genuinely thought he would offer deeper insight and help me find other ways to be successful. I tore through the book with excitement. But in the end I was disappointed. I know he is selling his book. Don't need to remind me every other page about Your Keto Diet book. I bought it already. He is offering pointers from healing naturally, but his prescriptions in here are way to expensive for my income. So, he caters to people who can afford all organic ingredients and supplements. No issue there. I just can't sustain that level even for 30 days. But good ideas and tips. I will take the tips I can use and keep following my poor man Keto diet sources. He does provide some good recipes that I will try, but I will stick with my other craveable Keto recipes in the meantime. So, the take away from me: just know the ingredients he pushes are all organic and not everyone else's Keto plan. I can't afford what he says I should do to follow this program. He says the bacon I love isn't ideal and he pushes turkey bacon or "beef" bacon. I have never heard of beef bacon and haven't found it in any store yet. He does make good sense as far as I can tell and is in line and maybe healthier then other Keto programs. As for me and my house, we'll glean what we can and make do with what we can actually find and afford.

Give it a chance
I am one week into this program. So far, I’ve lost 3 pounds. Just over the last couple of days, I’ve had more energy, my mental clarity has improved and I feel calmer or more peaceful, not sure how to explain it. I found 3 obstacles to this program: expense, attitude and time involved in planning and prep. It can be expensive, but there are ways to lower the cost. Google low cost grass-fed to find a lot of ideas. Imperfect produce’s website boasts organic produce at 30% below supermarket costs. Walmart, Costco and others carry a lot of organic. You don’t have to pay Whole Foods prices, although they have Ancient Nutrition on sale, probably to coincide with the book release. You can also buy single servings to try out these products. I’ve seen clean keto programs online for $200 or more. Dr. Axe has given us the information for the bargain kindle price of $14.99. Attitude is important going into this. It’s 30 days out of your life - an experiment that can lead to a healthier existence. This is just the way you’re eating right now. Planning and preparation will take time, so something’s gotta give. There are only so many hours in a day. I started Monday. Saturday I bought food for the 1st 3 days. Sunday I prepped as much as possible for Monday. Monday I prepped for Tuesday. Tuesday I shopped for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and so on. When you’re done prepping for the day, clean up before bed. Your future self will thank you. This way I’m pretty much guaranteed to succeed each day. Also, make a whole recipe and freeze what you don’t use (lamb burgers for example). Just some final observations: I was so busy the 1st day, I forgot to eat lunch. I wasn’t hungry. I decided to skip the snacks, which are optional, and the desserts. I still can’t eat all the food, and by Friday it was beginning to pile up. I’ll skip shopping until I can use it up. So far, every recipe has been really tasty, except the salmon. I can’t stand salmon, but I managed to choke it down. Good luck everybody!

Wow ! This Book Works.
If your looking to lose weight this is the way to go, get the book. I was skeptic on the idea of proteins and fats to lose weight. I tried several other diets and failed them. Dr Josh Axe has different eating plans in this book that will suit you. If your vegan he even has a keto vegan eating plan as well. I chose the 30 day plan. All I can say is Wow ! It really works. I lost 11 Lbs in 1 month (30 days). Friends have noticed the difference on my gut and face. Follow the recipes in the book and you can only win. I love the meal plans. For most part I stuck to it 95% . Mixed & matched a few times. The key also is some exercise. I’m 62 and all I do is hit the rebounder in the morning for 10 -15 minutes and end of day before dinner go on a walk. I usually do 2.5 - 3.5 miles a day. The diet and exercise go hand in hand if you really want to lose weight. I tried other diets with treadmill and no success but only for short time and got stuck on a plateau. If you experienced that you know what I’m talking about and it can be frustrating. That’s why I chose Keto ! It works. You will experience the Keto flu because your body is making a new adjustment but it will come to pass. I’m amazed how this diet works. Just follow the instructions in this book and you will not fail. Dr Axe guarantees you will lose weight. Well good news he is right you will lose weight like I did. I got 19 more Lbs to go and I’m sticking with the Keto Diet. Thank you, Dr Axe. Remember you got to get this book.

Absolutely fantastic book. I got this book to learn more about Keto as I heard it was not particularly safe for long term and my boyfriend was on it. We have enjoyed reading it together and have learned so many interesting things. I particularly enjoyed learning how typical suppressant diets destroy your metabolism for years and then also with the Keto diet you don’t plateau like other diets. So much great information and I’ve been a huge fan of Dr. Josh and Chelsea Axe and the Ancient Nutrition products. I have an autoimmune condition myself so I am excited to dive deeper into the book to see how it could help me as well!
