Very Pleased
Ordered this to display a Educational/non flighted Eastern Screech Owl. Living in Florida, heat is always a concern and liked the cross thru ventilation of this carrier. My Husband put the carrier together easily in about 10 Min. The directions could be more specific and mention the space at the bottom (to slide in a poop paper), that might make it easier for the many that mentioned having a hard time putting it together? My husband replaced the plastic perch with a natural tree branch. The polycarbonate materiel is strong and clear, just what I wanted. The price was great also, but the main reason I like it is the design is so well ventilated, Can put the little owl in at home, transport and display for a short program , all with peace of mind, he will not be overheated.

Great travel cage
Great travel cage! Well worth the price. I have only used this once, but it is better than the others I have used. I got this for my Green Cheek Conure, after looking for something appropriate for his size (lots of travel cages seem to be for larger parrots). This one gives him room to move around but is still small enough to fit in the car seat (with a seat belt of course!). He likes that there are bars on both ends of the cage, because he likes to cling to the bars during car rides. It is light enough for me to carry with one hand (about 5-6 lbs). Also, assembly was easy. It comes with a perch, but I find that the plastic is too slippery for him during transport, so I have switched it out with a natural perch so he has more traction. He also likes the view! I can keep him out on the deck for some healthy sun light exposure and let him take in the sights and sounds safely.

Great travel cage
I bought this as a temporary cage (for enjoying the outdoors as well as travel) for a Bronze Wing Pionus. The cage is much too small and boring to be a primary cage. It does not come with any food/water dishes but if you have a little creativity you can rig something. For my purposes, I had to install a water bowl because I was going to have the bird outside in the sun.Cage does not come assembled. Assembly is intuitive, comes with easy to follow picture-instructions, and no tools are required, however cage does not easily clip together as I had hoped. I thought I had it assembled and then realized it was slanted and tabs were not in proper slots. I soon found out it is not easy to DISassemble... a little force and torque and it came together all right. At first bird did not want to go in cage. That is to be expected, most birds do not readily accept new things. I bribed her with treats to get inside, then brought her out to the yard, careful not to jostle the cage too much or frighten the bird. Used a spray bottle to give her a bath through the cage wires (one of her favorite hobbies), let her dry off in the sun, and soon she was having a grand old time. Now the top handle of the cage is one of her favorite perches, and I interpret it to mean she wants to go for an outing.Very happy I bought this cage. It is a convenient size for transport and of sturdy construction.

Impractical and unsafe.
I was excited to get this carrier for my sun conure and African grey, but I'm disappointed. First, the assembly. The assembly isn't complicated, but to get everything to line up *just right* and snap *just right* when you snap the final wall in is beyond ridiculous. I assembled it, but the final wall snapped in wrong. I used a butter knife to push each snap back out carefully to not break them. They are flimsy and I totally understand how someone may accidentally break them. It took two people to disassemble so I could attempt to assemble again. Then everything snapped in place, but a side wall was slightly lop-sided and took some man-handling to press into place. It took me over an hour to ensure I didn't break any part of it. So there is a loss of a star (I debated removing two stars, but assembly doesn't always dictate the quality of the product).Once assembled, I took a good look at it. The green handle is so flimsy, I feel as if the cage will fall off of the handle. My birds refuse to sit on it. How hard would it have been to put a strong wooden dowel? I will be wrapping it with vet wrap so it isn't so slippery to handle. The perch they send with is also flimsy, plastic, and slippery. I refuse to let my bird sit on it. I tried putting in wooden perches (all of mine are too long so I'll have to get a shorter one so it can be put in width-wise). When I did put the terrible perch in that it came with, it wouldn't even fit in a single hole drilled in the sides. I'm afraid any hardware I get won't fit either. The lock on the door. I use the word lock loosely. You push the door shut, then twist the vertical bar over, and upward. Tension holds it in place, but a bump can send it flying open. I keep my birds flighted, so you can imagine my nervousness actually taking them somewhere. The cage feels flimsy (like at any moment it will fall apart), the lock isn't safe, the perch is terrible, the hardware won't fit in the pre-drilled holes, the handle is flimsy and slippery. I really want to like this cage, but it feels like it's been made by someone with no bird knowledge. I would send it back if it wasn't for the trouble of taking it apart. They should put a removable tray, send small bowls and attachments, send a real wood perch, a heavier duty handle, and a better locking mechanism (like a spring loaded lock). I could even get past the horrid assembly if the end result was safer and more practical. I've spent the last two weeks training my sun conure, Alohi, to enjoy the carrier. I'll use it until I find something better. The only pros are that it's clear for the bird to see it's surroundings, it still get ventilation but not too much in the event you have to cover it and whisk it to the car in the winter, and it is roomy for my sun but would do for my grey in an emergency.

Best travel cage I have found.
Well made little travel cage. Solid once it is together, but feels like it might break when the pieces are apart. I think this is why it has some negative reviews. You can't force it together, but once it's together it is very solid. Also the directions could be confusing if you don't look at them very closely. It took me a few minutes to figure out I had the bottom panel upside down. The picture shows this, but the way the top panel goes on and the way the halves come together, it looks like it should fit the other way around. So pay very close attention to the images when you assemble. This is a solid well made cage and works perfectly for a traveling bird.
