This is the best primer I've ever used, and I've used quite a few different types with a lotion and a satin feel but my makeup felt like it just slid off and didn't stay put all day. This primer feels weird at first, it is a sticky clear gel-like primer but your makeup will go on extremely smooth and stay put all day. Your face will also feel softer than it has before (mine does at least). I don't recommend wearing the primer alone, as your face will feel tacky and look shiny because of the consistency, but under foundation or CC cream, it's amazing. I can honestly say I'll never go back to a non-gel primer again and hope they keep making this product. Again, the texture feels very strange at first, but it is a total skin and makeup changer. If you have fine lines and often find your makeup just settling into them making your fine lines look more pronounced, this will reduce that by at least 90%.

I use and love other Cover FX products (setting spray and setting powder, and a powder foundation). This primer was recommended as good for "mature skin." After multiple attempts to use this primer under different foundations, though -- it's not good for mature skin. At all. Tried it under a light foundation -- the foundation wouldn't apply, wouldn't stay in place. Tried it under a more substantial foundation -- same thing. Tried it under a powder-to-cream foundation -- the foundation clumped up all over my face. Had to clean my face and start over. I use these foundations all the time with other primers (LaBase and Smashbox, e.g.) and have uniformly good results. So my conclusion: The problem is this primer.

I perspire a lot and my makeup still looked fine. I guess I was hoping it could shield me from sweat beads but it didn’t

I had originally bought ‘em this product from Sephora a while back, but they no longer sold this brand any more, so when I found it on here I was pretty stoked about it. Although the formula isn’t the same it has a bit of a tackier like feel to it, I don’t think I would order this one again. But my make up does look better when I use this primer, I just don’t like the feel of it.

I learned about this product while watching YouTube video of a great way to cover under eye dark circles. I bought this product and was pleasantly surprised to find it’s a little “tacky” so any concealer I use sticks & stays right where I put it. I use it on any area of my face that needs some help using a concealer.

I was hoping this primer would be good after reading the reviews since I’m trying to look for a more affordable alternative to il makiage’s primer. Unfortunately it’s not for me. It does have this dewy tacky texture as most have mentioned. It applies nicely and smoothly but it starts to rub off when I’m applying my foundation, and I noticed some patching areas where my foundation did not apply nicely. I’ve had to wipe my whole face to get ride of the primer and use my other primer instead. Will not buy again :(
