Soooo good!
It may leave a little behind; however, it works great and saves me an astronomical amount of time. I will never trim by hand again

Time saver but takes some practice. Semi-Wet trim only.
I found this bowl trimmer to work really well, but there are several little tricks I had to learn before i got the groove down. Once i got everything figured out I was averaging 3-4 pounds an hour. There were no instructions for assembly which was frustrating.First off- do not even attempt to trim dry bud in this trimmer. They will get destroyed.I found this bowl trimmer worked the best when buds were 50% wet / 50% dry.Too dry and buds got destroyed from the fingers, too wet and the trim was not as nice and buds stuck together inside the bowl.Although frustrating at first, I now believe this trimmer was worth every penny. It literally saved me weeks and weeks of hand trimming. You just need to play around with the moisture level of your bud to find that happy medium. Once you do you’ll be happy with this trimmer. Also, when i found the perfect moisture level of my bud to work the best inside the bowl, there was literally zero hand trimming after. I did have to buy drying racks to further finish drying my bud after the trim.

A fantastic, sturdy bud trimmer, bargain priced to boot.
I bought the 19 inch bud trimmer to trim cannabis buds, which is now legal in Vermont. This is a very well-built machine. The plexiglass dome is very sturdy, as is the stainless steel catch bowl and the whole system comes literally ready to use.The machine comes with a razor sharp cutting blade already installed, and when you open the box, this will be face up. Despite having been warned, I managed to cut myself shortly after opening. This is the sharpest blade of its type I have ever seen. You will probably hear stories about these machines chewing up the buds badly, and yes, you can do that. But if you want a really nice even trim that doesn't completely clean all of the trichomes off of the bud, just give it 10 turns to the right followed by ten turns to the left and you should be very close to perfect.I rough trim each bud by hand then use this trimmer to give a final uniform trim. The trimmings fall into the stainless steel ball bowl and are rich in THC and very suitable for either smoking or making edibles. My machine came with three different hand trimmers.... a very fine spring loaded nipper, a small fine-pointed trimmer, and a larger, more sturdy cutter to take off the really big stems. It also came with a nice no-slip rubber pad upon which the trimmer will sit and not move while being cranked.Overall, I am very pleased with this machine in every way. It was very well packaged, has a spare razor blade and a wire whip cutter for dry materials, and if I didn't know what the price was, I would guess it would sell for somewhere between $200 and $300 easily. High quality throughout, and high value.Hints:Don't overfill the trimmer. When your buds are covering about 50% of the trimmer surface go ahead and process them. This takes less than a minute. I suggest 10 turns to the right, 10 turns to the left, and don't be tempted to make them into an overly tight trim. Also, you don't have to turn the handle very fast. Just a nice steady circular turning will cause the razor sharp blades to spin right up, since there is a very sturdy gearbox between the handle in the cutting blade. This will easily cut your trimming time to a third or even a quarter.

Sorry so long.
Everything I have purchased with the VIVOSUN name on it has been top notch quality and this bowl trimmer is no exception. For the price difference I chose the 19 with no regrets. The one negative I have found is minor, the handle could be stronger, it will bend with downward pressure which is generally unintentional and unnecessary. For those that complain about the job the bud trimmer does I would guess hand trimming better suits your taste and I get that, however hand trimming is very time consuming. As I legally grow for personal use only, I do hand trim some special reserve type buds but overall, the bud trimmer bowl does a great job, and you will learn as you go what you like. The amount of time per use or harvest this saves me is hours. For me wet trimming is much preferred, and I am very glad I watched this particular video of two dudes testing it for the first time and I was somewhat shocked at the chunks they basically were throwing in, very rough cut but their results sold me. After trimming with the bud trimmer bowl, you can further purdy up your buds by hand if desired. I generally turn 10-12 full rotations each direction fairly slowly and finish with a few clockwise rotations for good measure before checking results. Remember you can always take more off, but you can’t put it back on. As part of the learning curve all buds are not created equal and here is where adjusting speed and rotations are important.

Great Device, but lacks instructions and explaining
This unit is huge first of all. Consider the smaller units if you don't have the space. Only instructions I received were how to use it, but there are several extra parts in the package. No explanation on how to assemble the unit. I know it seems king of intuitive, but they have a blade for wet trimming and one for dry trimming. Mine came with the wet blade on, but here was a cross piece that wasn't attached. I went to the manufacture website and watched a video and paused it, took a screen shot and figured out I needed to attach that piece. Also the blade can be installed upsidown, no indicator on which way to do. Might not matter, but I made it match the pic in the screenshot I took. With that said, once I got it together properly, I used it on fresh cut wet material and it worked well, really well. I used the rubber mat at the bottom to catch the trimmings. It did an excellent job. Maybe a little touching up with the included trimmers they give you, but could go without that as well. Now that I got it together, it's a great unit, just wish there were better assembly instructions and explanations. Any time you have extra parts without an explanation makes you think you did something wrong.
