This lock was a great replacement for a 'hook and eye' lock on a porch screen door. It is solidly made, and was easy to install in a wood door. I like how securely it holds the door closed -- unlike the hook lock, which got ripped out of the wood by the wind. I also love the 'red bronze' finish, and wish that additional door hardware (door handle, hinges) was available in this finish.

Tried many different latches for our fence gate. Our gate is heavy and through time and weather, it slowly sags-therefore the locks eventually fail to work through the changing seasons. This gate lock solved the problem totally!! As the seasons change, the slider part may not drop all the way down due to wood swelling- BUT IT ALWAYS LATCHES ENOUGH TO LOCK. It’s been functional on our heavy gate now for years- would buy again

Easy way to secure a shed door from swinging open.

First the good: This latch works EXACTLY as shown.The bad is that it works EXACTLY as shown.For my application, I thought the slide on the latch bar would be helpful to keep it out of the way when not in use. It does do that but it is also a bit of a pain to have to make sure it is fully extended before latching the gate.I should probably have given the product 5 stars and myself 3 stars for not expecting this issue.
