Design Toscano NG31567 French Pleurant Statue - Medium, Off White

What a beautiful and unusual item this is. I had no idea what a pleurant was until I did some research. Sometimes called 'weepers' they are figures to represent mourners and used on graves and tombs, possibly in the Middle Ages. Maybe not to everyone's taste but I put it in our garden in memory of my father who passed away.

I love this figure.................I suppose you will either love it or hate it?From a distance it looks great but up close has paint runs & casting imperfections(nothing serious).I think I may cut open the bottom(it sounds hollow) to insert some sort of weight to stabilise it more as the way it is now it 'could' blow over outside in a strong wind especially if high up & not glued down??I will let mine weather a bit then bring it inside to sand,fill & paint myself to a better finish.I have resin 75mm model figures that cost me £20ish....so this is great value. If you have never experienced the pain of the death of a 'living' person or pet.......I wont waste time explaining the appeal of "The Weeper". I would not leave it at a public grave site as someone will steal it.Perfect for Pet burial's in your garden.My wife hates it!I had seen this a few years before & she talked me out of it then & then I saw it again after more bad news & thought "yes,that is just how I feel".....that feeling has passed now but the statue reminds me to enjoy every day as a Blessing,now.

This is a beautiful statue, very pleased with it. Although it is light in weight it seems quite robust but I will not be leaving it in the garden over winter. Have left other statues of this material out all year round and they have not worn well.

I really liked the meaning of this figurine and the initial picture advertised (pic 1) made it look great. What i received was quite different unfortunately, looking at the figure received and the 1st picture advertised its clear to see it is 2 different items. Very disappointed its been misrepresented this way, quite misleading. The hood is shorter on the statue at the front and back which doesn't give the frame an endless flowing appearance, Having said this, I paid less than £8 for this on a prime offer so have kept it and placed it in the garden amongst the shrubs. It isn't awful to look at, its just annoying as I can see the difference. Value for money at the price I paid is fine but had I paid more as it's now priced over £12 at the time of writing, I would definitely be sending it back. It is grey in colour. Sounds hollow like plaster of Paris type casting. Lightweight so protect from any bad weather gales.

This looks great! I purchased a few while they’ve been on offer for the medium size. I plan on having them outside but have popped one in my kitchen as I like the look. It’s a resin material and arrived perfect, just like in the picture. Had lots of comments on it.

The item is just as described, it arrived on time, was well worth the price and communication with the seller was great. Top marks from me.

Absolutely great. Most unusual and well made. Certainly makes a topic of conversation. Love the stuff that comes from this maker for originality and class that's not costing the earth.

For what it is, this ‘weeper’ statue delivers. However, I wouldn’t pay $50 for something this small and light weight. I don’t plan on having this outside so I’m not worried about it becoming brittle or fading, but I’m fairly confident it would - likely pretty quick I think. Overall it’s good, although it’s overpriced and the quality is lacking if compared to other statues that you can buy at that price point.

Esta estatuilla (si no me equivovo es una copia de uno de los de "Dijon Pleurants" ) está muy bien realizada y es absolutamente hermosa: inspira, con su austeridad y sus líneas puras y sencillas misticismo, espiritualidad, melancolía, tranquilidad ... -dependerá del momento vital -. Pero no es para todo el mundo -muchos no la entenderán- pero los que sí tengan la sensibilidad para apreciarla se emocionaron al verla. Gracias a Desing Toscano por realizarla. Haré un último comentario:no entiendo a los compradores que se quejan de su pequeño tamaño cuando las medidas están expuestas con absoluta claridad y la figura las cumple al milímetro. No son críticas válidas para mí :hacen perder el tiempo y crean falsas dudas al futuro comprador al no ser objetivas.
