Blackspur BB-ST103 Heavy Duty Metal Staple Gun

This staple gun is slightly smaller than described measuring a compact 15.8 x 14 x 3 cm [approx. 6” x 6” x 1”] and weighs around 558g so it’s quite lightweight to use but sturdy in use. This is well designed and nice to handle with a twist knob on the top so that you can vary the actual force used to drive in the staple, making it easier to use on harder or softer surfaces without damaging the surface.I bought mine to tack down carpet underlay on a stair and this was -in effect, ready to use and the staples went into the wood with ease, without sinking into the wood.The downside is you only get a single ‘sprue’ of staples [about 30 or so] which limits you’re capabilities. So when purchasing this, make sure you buy some staples [Type 53 or 11.3mm wide by 8mm deep are the supplied ones]. Despite this flaw, staples are cheap, so deducting a * seems harsh.

I bought this to staple down underlay to hardboard before laying a carpet and found it to be absolutely brilliant at the task for which it is designed. It's a sturdy-feeling, heavy little blighter which has got a handy strength adjustment knob to make it very efficient indeed at stapling through hard materials.The mechanical action of stapling is pleasingly punchy and makes a nice solid 'KA-DUNK' noise. These things please me.

Used successfully to re-upholster some furniture. Certainly powerful enough to drive the staples home. It's a shame it doesn't come with more staples in the pack. To buy extra staples at the same time through Amazon you need to have an order over £20 which doesn't really make sense. I have now sourced size 53 staples from elsewhere [the size is important] and hope to get lots of future use from this item.

Bought this few months ago but only starting using it this wk for my crafts and what a load of utter rubbish it is I spent more time unblocking it until my fingers were so sore you only get what you pay for.Glad to say I ordered another brand which arrived today and is doing the job nicely.

Used this to re-staple the cloth on my sofa after changing the springs, works really well, better than the staples I removed in the first place! Make sure you order the correct size staples, I bought some heavy duty ones and they were about 1mm too narrow so did not fit!
