I purchased a 7 piece Wusthof classic set as a christmas gift to myself. i added a few knives and purchased the classic steak knives as well. The block that was included looked so cheap though. Just like my cheap knife set. I wanted something to differentiate the knives, even while in the block. The walnut color really sets this off and makes a statement that you have a quality knife set. I have a lot of brown in my kitchen and this knife block really compliments everything. I opted for the 17 knife block because i didnt want to spend over $350 for 8 wusthof classic steak knives. Plus, i have added the 7" & 5" santoku, serrated utility, 6" cooks and still have room for two more knives. Plenty of room, fits nicely on the counter.

Beautiful block. Deep enough for large bread knives. Saves a lot of space.

When I placed my order, I specifically picked a walnut block with the brand name embossed in the wood. However, I received a cheap looking plastic label stuck on a very crudely manufactured block that looks worse than what one can buy in the cheap night markets in Asia for a fraction of what Amazon charges. This was easily my worst online purchase. Shame on Amazon for misrepresenting its products. I will never buy household goods on this website again. DO NOT BUY THE WALNUT BLOCK it is nothing like what is in the pictures on the listing and you will be disappointed in the the quality of the finished product. I feel ripped off!

I purchased the walnut finish, 17 slot. Fits an 8 inch chef’s knife and 2 6 inch chef’s knives. Beautiful, well-made knife block. Horizontal slots are a nice touch.
