I had my knees replaced 15 years ago and while in the hospital I was given a grabber just like this(except it was the shorter one). I had used it ever since then. It can pick up a dime that is flat on the floor(wood or carpeted). It can pick up medication, even very small pills(though I never had to try it on anything as small as nitro). It can pick up pieces of paper. It can pick up full 20 oz bottles of soda or water with no problem. I can really remember anything I tried to pick up the first 14 years I had it that I had any trouble with. About three years ago part of the black plastic at the tip cracked but the yellow rubbery part was still intact so I superglued the plastic part and it worked just as good as new. About a year ago that part finally broke completely off so was no longer useable for anything small. I could not find anything like this one around here so tried other kinds and *none* I tried were built the same or as well or could be used as well as this one. Because of some negative reviews I read, I thought maybe this one just *looked* like my old one but was made cheaply or something so I was leery of ordering it. Finally, frustrated, I decided to and I am *so* glad I did. This one is *exactly* like the one I used and loved that lasted me almost 1.5 decades. The only differences are the length(my orignal one was a bit shorter) and the fact that the aluminum on my old one was shiny and this one is brushed so duller. This is one of my favorite Amazon purchases.

Used quite a few grabber styles over the years (including the current crop) but I find this one the best. Has a hook and magnet. Works well and is very sturdy. Highly recommended.

My wife, who has depended on reachers for assistance for the last thirteen years has tried many different kinds (suction cups, grippers, brand names, no names, etc.). This style seems to work best for her. We bought three (two 32" and one 24"). The squeeze handle can accommodate an entire hand and does not require a strong grip to pick things up. The jaws that do the lifting are well aligned to each other. The reacher is lightweight and seems sturdy and it should last a while. We have bought these style before but not from Amazon because they were not available. Other firm's models were more expensive, took longer to arrive, were poorly wrapped and some arrived broken. These arrived in two days on Prime; were carefully packed and were actually carded and individually boxed within the Amazon box with the manufacturers name and phone number along with usage instructions and product features. Not a common practice. Also, they all work. The 32" model is useful for lifting things from the floor when in a sitting position so my wife prefers that length most of the time. The 24" is also handy for things that are close by. We keep both lengths available. Thank you to the vendor and Amazon. It is very difficult to find quality products for the disabled. I own several reachers. As a partial quadriplegic with only limited use of my hands and arms I need a reacher close by at all times. The Nova Dragon has several great features: it is substantial and does not feel as if it would bend or break when lifting a heavy object-for example, a full bottle of laundry detergent. The handle is designed such that it may be hung from nearly any horizontal surface. The nylon/plastic stuff which the handle and gripping end are comprised is durable and easy to clean. The gripping end has an additional soft liner at the tip which allows the gripper to pick up difficult objects, like a fallen piece of paper. The downside: the gripping end has only one moving arm. The other is fixed. This makes it much more difficult to pick up small and medium-size objects. Grippers that squeeze with both arms make it much easier. At the handle end, the "trigger", used to squeeze, has very little play. From no grip to maximum pressure is less than 1/2 inch. My hands find such small movements to be very difficult and unreliable. So, three stars-one for substantial build quality, two for durability and easy cleaning, three for a unique and effective handle design. The Nova Dragon loses two stars because of the gripper design.

I called this my hand. It picks up a little less things and could pick up semi heavy things. Has a good grip and I believe I’m gonna end up buying another one of these grabber. I do recommend this grabber.
