These things are surprisingly awesome. Plug it in, and suddenly my old VGA gear actually behaves like it’s modern—no signal drama, no cable chaos. Honestly, I’m impressed that something this simple makes me feel like a tech wizard.

I have 8 channel NVR in basement and remote monitor over cat5e in den. My original NVR VGA extender failed after almost two years. Replacement did not worked either. So I got this less expensive unit and surprise - is working nice. This is over about 50ft of cat5e cable. The only small problem - screen is not as sharp as with powered unit (old one and broken)

This adapter just plain works. I'm only running it appx 35' but using this allowed me to run multiple cat6 cables, punch them down into wall boxes, and attach whatever end adapters I want. Without this adapter, I would have had to cut a much larger hole for a VGA head.

Worked okay. It looses the crispness. For a monitor that is just to be for monitoring security system on wall its okay. But otherwise you will be disappointed.

I used these to relocate a PC to the other side of the basement, yet keep my monitors in their current location. I ran 50' of brand new CAT6 cable and connected these to my PC. I was incredibly disappointed in the image quality. Not only is it significantly degraded to the point of it literally being fuzzy with a lot of ghosting, there was also an added reddish-orange hue. Today they were replaced with 50' of VGA cable, which is what I should have used to begin with!

We use this often for 10-40 ft runs and have zero issues with quality network cable

I ordered this just to see if it works , not expensive the cost. I tried it with 2 10m cat 5 cables joined in the middle and to my surprise it worked. It was an experiment and I now have it in my kit just in case a client has trouble with a VGA or an HDMI cable that need a quick fix
