Great boot
Great Hiking shoe! Put about 20 miles on them now, no discomfort. Lots of room in the toe and the US size is accurate.

Keen comfort
As always, Keen delivers all day comfort. These were purchased to replace an original pair of Targhee’s. They are supportive and lightweight. Be aware that this model runs a bit small, so it is advisable to order a half size larger than your typical size.

Great for Wide Feet!
Phenomenal. I've had them for a few years now. Size was just right. Great for wide feet. Best for earthy terrain - not so much for spending all day on hard man-made surfaces.

Updated review... Keen is junk with ZERO warranty support!
UPDATE: In the past, Keen was a good brand, with great durability. Now.... Keen is a worthless company when it comes to quality/durability, and warranty..........WARRANTY IS USELESS! Keen's warranty is so lopsided in favor of Keen, and you will never get anything from them under the warranty. My shoes literally fell apart within 4 months.... I contacted them about the warranty. Sent images, receipt images, screenshots of purchase info, and right from the start they throw up roadblocks. Went back and forth via email for a weeks.....pictures, and even video showing how badly the shoes fell apart..... they always have some excuse as to why the warranty won't cover it, EVERY time, a some point in an email or phone conversation this phrase came out..... "That is considered normal wear and tear, and is not covered under out warranty." WAY OVERPRICED SHOES, AND LESS THAN 6 MONHTS OF USABILITY BEFORE THEY HAVE FALLEN APART.....AND A WARRANTY THAT IS USELESS TO THE CUSTOMER! I don't know what happened to Keen, but they went from a good brand, to horrible in no time at all. If you buy Keen brand footwear, then make sure you buy a CASE of Shoe Goo, or similar product..... YOU WILL NEED IT! The lugs that wrap upward will be the first to start coming apart..... for me, it caused me to trip and fall! Even when you try to "glue" the lugs back in place, another one comes loose, and you spend more time trying to repair them then wear them! Shortly after the sole lugs start coming loose, the stitching starts coming out, and the soles tear away from the uppers. It's insane, trying to repair a shoe that for the high cost, should not be coming apart in the first place. Keen shoes/boots are without a doubt the most overpriced, poorest quality footwear I have ever seen! You'd be just about as well off to burn your money for warmth....because that's about how long these boots will last! UPDATED REVIEW: Less then 8 months with only wearing them about once a week, and the lugs have separated around the outside of BOTH soles! This is totally unacceptable for a shoe of this price! No way will I spend that kind of money for such lousy durability! NEVER AGAIN! THESE BOOTS ARE NOT TRUE TO SIZE! (They run small) I was looking at this boot through a local retailer, and glad I did. I tried on my normal size (11.5 W) and they were very small and tight. I asked to try on a 12W and it fit just right. They only had one pair of 12W at the store, and that pair had a defect that I wasn't willing to live with. I got home, looked on Amazon, and the same boots are $49 LESS! I ordered a pair of 12W, and they fit just right. This is day 1 with them on my feet, so we'll see how the comfort and durability holds up. If they start coming apart prematurely as others have stated in reviews, I will update my review/

If you have wide feet, go for the much harder to find wide sizes.
I was disappointed in the size of these. They are described by many many other people in the reviews and comments as being cut very wide, so while I normally look for wide shoes I went with the normal width on these boots. They still ended up being too narrow for my really wide feet, but were better than a normal shoe. Length wise I think they are very true to size. And the extra roomy toe area is fantastic. But the width of the shoe is not nearly as wide as it's described so they really fit more true to size rather than wider than expected. So if you normally wear wide shoes, consider the wide version of the Targhee II's as well. You may not need the wides because the Targhee II's are cut a little wider than a normal boot, but it's nice to know they are an option. Unfortunately they aren't as easy to find, they cost a little more, and the color choices are limited. Here's a link to the wide version on Amazon. KEEN Men's Targhee II Mid Wide Hiking Shoe, Shiitake/Brindle, 12 W US As for the quality of the boots, I can't talk about how well they hold up over time because I returned mine due to the sizing issue. But you can tell just by holding them that they are very well constructed. The first thing you notice is how light the boots are. They are a little bulky, but don't have much weight to them at all. There is good foot support. Despite the tightness of these boots on my wide feet, it was easy to tell how well I felt supported by the boots. A lot of the negative reviews are about the soles falling apart. While I didn't experience this in the 1 night I walked around my living room before returning them, you can see where the different colored rubber sections are separate pieces that could separate. I've seen that happen on many other shoes I've owned and it always happens where the different rubber sections connect. There are a lot of those connections on these boots. The top lace hooks are a little tight as well. (The uppermost lace points aren't eyelets, they are hooks. Normal for boots.) You have to almost snap the laces in and out of them and each time I did I felt like the laces would get damaged. That could cause the laces to tear, which could leave you in an ugly situation if you were miles from your campsite or something. I'd recommend keeping an extra pair of laces with you on any longer hikes. (Good advice anyway, regardless of the shoes you are wearing) Ultimately my only real problem with these was the sizing. If you have wide feet, get the wide cut boots. The boots themselves felt very well made. I was impressed enough that I'm going to go buy the wide versions to try now instead of just giving up and finding another brand entirely. I'd also recommend the Keen Durands. The sizing is very similar. But those are 100% made in the USA and are a significantly better quality boot in every respect, and look very similar to the Targhee II's. They cost more, but in my opinion they are worth every penny more even for casual day hiking.

Great shoes for hiking/long-term wearing.
I really like these shoes. I need something with good arch support but also has to be comfortable because I wear them for hours when hiking. It’s a nice snug fit and they don’t rub my ankles - which is important to me because other shoes have rubbed my heel raw. I’m a taller person, so I need the good arch support because that helps to better align my entire back while walking. Definitely recommend these.

If like me you suffer with painfull heels (plantar facilititus) and you like walking then its worth spending out on a pair of these. So confortable and supportive under the heel and general fit is really good. Generous in sizing and they don't make your feet look like " boats"!! I'm considering buying another pair and I would have no hesitation in recommending to others.
