Works and it goes pretty far
This is good stuff. Protected me from strong sun on my vacation recently. I was afraid the small bottle wouldn't be enough for 2 people for 2 weeks, so we got 2 bottles, but we would have been fine with just one. It was pricy, but our destination is home to crystal clear water, coral reefs and some of the most gorgeous fish. We wanted to be respectful of their home. Plus a snorkel park we went to banned regular sunscreen so we wanted to get something that we could wear for protection at the park. I did a lot of research on amazon comparing different natural sunscreens before landing on this one.We did get burnt on a particularly long day of sun exposure, but I blame that on not re-applying often enough, and at least the burn wasn't blotchy and weird like you sometimes get with other sunscreens. No sunscreen is fool-proof or lasts all day, especially if you're in and out of the water repeatedly. My husband has super sensitive skin, and very oily skin. He did not complain about this sunscreen being too sticky even once, and it did not cause any breakouts. It's thick, kinda like toothpaste, but I found a good method for applying is to squeeze small amounts at regular intervals onto your limbs and rub them in circles. It doesn't have a white cast as long as you rub it in very well.

Lovely sunscreen!
I wanted to invest in my skincare and the one thing I haven't really found was sunscreen. I needed a good sunscreen that wouldn't give me a white cast, high spf, and wasn't greasy or smelled overly like actual sunscreen. In comes Ethical Zinc. The texture of the lotion is similar to a stiff paste, but when rubbed together on your fingertips melts right into your skin. I did order this during the winter time so maybe that may have affected the texture when I put it on my face, but it is not difficult to rub in.The sunscreen dries completely clear with no white cast and has a slight vanilla scent, nothing overbearing. the longer it stays on your face the more of a ethereal glow you get, not a sweaty greasy "glow" but an actual glow. My skin has the sun protection and hydration from using this sunblock and it is great under makeup.

Effective. Thick cream texture. A little oily. Smells like vanilla cupcakes.
Product is thick in texture, so it is a little difficult to spread evenly on larger portions of skin. The sunscreen does take a bit longer to sink in as well because it's thicker, and there is a slight oily/tacky finish. I tend to have dry skin on my arms and legs, so I'm not personally opposed to the texture. I did have to use a matte makeup primer on my face on top of the sunscreen since my face tends to be more oily anyway.I tend to burn very easily (I'm a very pale white person), and this stuff did a great job protecting my skin. I spent an entire afternoon in the sun, and I didn't even turn pink. Might need to reapply more often if you go in the water or if you sweat a lot, but for normal outdoor activities I have only needed to reapply once in the afternoon. If you have issues with fragrances, be aware that this sunscreen does have a mild vanilla scent. It caught me off guard when I first applied it because I couldn't figure out what smelled like cupcakes. It was the sunscreen. I'll take the cupcake smell over the normal sunscreen smell.

Get this!
Since this product arrived, I've used it exclusively as my daily sunscreen with no burning or even any tanning. Yay! It is a bit harder to rub in than most lotions, but doesn't leave you looking ghostly when you apply it properly. It has the highest concentration of zinc oxide I've found. The scent is mild and dissipates quickly. Doesn't sting your eyes like chemical sunscreen, nor does it enter your bloodstream or stain your clothes as chemical sunscreens can. This is an Australian product and the website says it passes the (Australian) 4-hour water resistance test. I contacted the company to ask if the product sold in the US is different, since it says 80-minute water resistant. Ethical Zinc responded quickly and told me that it's the same product, but that the US only allows a maximum claim of 80 minutes water resistance. I've relied on it for the full 4 hours & it works that long! Highly recommend!Update: Boo! this is no longer available via Amazon Prime.

AWESOME!!
I absolutely LOVE this sunscreen!!! It feels great on my skin and smells awesome - soft vanilla, not too strong. A little goes a long way and you need to rub it in all the way or you will look a little pale, but it rubs in quickly. I was especially pleased that I didn’t get overly hot and sweaty in it like I do with chemical sunscreen, nor did it make my acne-prone skin break out. It is so nice to have a comfortable, effective sunscreen that is safe for humans and aquatic life. I won’t use anything else!

Sun and acne safe, but not fun to use
PROS- I didn’t burn at all in the tropical sun , and I have very light skin. - I snorkeled for hours, and it the product didn’t wash off. - I have super acne-prone skin, and this did amazingly for me.CONS- The consistency is absolutely awful. It doesn’t absorb into the skin; it clings to it like a thick, ghostly white/silver, paste. Feels and looks gross. - Texture-wise, it also just doesn’t wash off without some effort. I was coated in sand that would normally just brush off, after drying in the sun.BOTTOM LINE: Your skin is 100% protected and acne free, but just underneath a really obnoxious paste.

GREAT SUNSCREEN WOULD RECOMMEND
This seems to really work. It is actually non-irritating and I have very sensitive skin! I have been wearing it everyday and no ill effects. Be advised the sunscreen has the consistency of caulk. It takes some serious rubbing. I also have brown skin so it leaves a whitish film until It has been on for about 15 minutes. Sometimes white rings around my neck. It is still totally worth it since it is truly non-irritating and does the job. I highly recommend.
