Great tool, perfect at what it does! the only limitation I find is the software you pick!

Amazing! It does Nearly everything I need it to. I have been researching an issue with it not displaying the Fuel trim values. It shows up green in the Torque app as an available sensored data but it stays flatlined without ever changing. 97 Ford Ranger 4.0 LLikes: I love the digital gauges it can provide. My truck does not have an RPM gauge so that is really handy. The code reading mode works great. I am using this to chase down a p0171 code...its been hard but without this tool i would have nothing to go on other than a shaky engine. The price is really low for a tool that can do so much.I highly recommend this tool, it has wealths of information in it and its so easy to use!Update: I have had issues as stated above with the fuel trims and O2 sensor data. I did contact the seller on this issue to see if they have heard anything, and that was their first time. Their concern was immediately supportive and wanted to replace the unit and examine it to make sure it met all of their HIGH QUALITY standards and immediately sent me a new unit and a return package to send the old back. So I did and that was followed with still having issues with the O2 and fuel trims so I assumed it was a limitation. I then stumbled into a forum post stating that Ford has "Ford Enhanced" diagnostics separate from standard OBD2 so I looked more on that and found that to be a possible avenue of research. SO I dug harder and then just a few days ago OBD Fusion on the app store came out with an update and I didnt think anything of it ( I tried a lot of different apps to see if I could make it work better and no results) BUT ODB fusion had updated to include FORD ENHANCED modes! This did cost $10.00 but heck i tried it out and then selected all that i wanted to measure and sure enough BAM the fuel trims were alive on the dials!! also they include a lot of fault checks and from there i was able to narrow it down to a contaminated 1st injector!!! I am troubleshooting fatigued so i wanted to let everyone know about this, because the next step i have been looking at taking was buying a $200 scanner that does live data for Fords when this works just as good i reckon. I would like to say I am just a average user and i am not affiliated with OBD Fusion in any way at all and I am not received anything to update this review.I only wanted to let others know, don't be rigid in any way when looking for answers, Toque is great but i got stuck in the mindset that Torque was gospel and my truck was more defective than I thought. And a huge shout out to the creators of this device and the support team. They are awesome!

Very satisfied.

I bought this gizmo in an effort to get a greater handle on knowing what my vehicles are doing. I'm not a mechanic, a tuner, a musclehead or anything like that. I simply like to take a crack at DIY repairs, as I'm stubborn and cheap. I at least want to be able to take care of the basics, or be able to do research based on a code pull before taking action with a mechanic, etc etc. Going to your local auto part stores (which isn't exactly that close to where I live) was hardly convenient, and likewise, a recent situation made it all the more clear that I needed to start pulling my own codes. My van (2005 Saturn Relay 3 AWD) kept throwing an ABS error** (read below about my notes regarding ABS), but even with the error on, the act of turning the vehicle off and back on again would almost always clear the code. Now, imagine, driving to an auto parts store, you see the error light on, yet they instruct you to turn off your vehicle and put it in accessory mode -- only to find the scanner picks up nothing. Why? Because it just cleared via turning the vehicle off. Do this a bunch of times and you'll want to light things on fire. After some quick research, I settled on the BAFX adapter. The reviews were impossible to beat, so I ordered one. Much like the pattern of prior reviews, I'm quite happy with this thing. The bluetooth paired up to my Galaxy S4 with minimal effort and I was able to interface it with two apps -- I tried both Torque Pro and Car Gauge Pro. I like them both for different reasons.Torque Pro is a nice app, nice interface, but it does *not* (at the time of this writing) do ABS codes. Other reviews here made me think this BAFX adapter was incapable of pulling ABS codes, but in reality, it has less to do with the adapter than you think. It's more about the app/software designed to read and analyze these codes. The adapter itself will pass whatever information it can from the ECU to the software scanner in question. I ended up trying Car Gauge Pro and was able to pull the ABS error code on my van (again, 2005 Saturn Relay 3 AWD).It's a solid little unit, well built, and simply does the job. Pairing this device with an app such as Torque or Car Gauge is a great combination. At first when I unboxed this thing and tried it out, my ABS light was not lit, so I left the van run in the driveway with the phone paired up to the adapter. I came outside 10 minutes later. Guess what? Light was back on, so I hit scan code -- boom -- C0040. Now I know what I need to do. Didn't shut the van off or anything. It's hard to say how much success you'll have pulling ABS codes, as every vehicle is very different. Even excluding those codes and focusing strictly on engine codes for 'check engine' lights, this is still more than worth it. If nothing else I wanted to notate my experience with my particular vehicle, the app/software choice, and the BAFX adapter with the issue I was facing. It's a simple adapter. It does the job, and does the job well. It's one of those items I'll toss in the vehicle before we go on road trips, vacations, etc. Two years ago it would have bailed us out immensely with an abrupt engine problem we faced 600 miles from home, so I have a greater peace of mind just knowing that this small adapter which takes so little space is in the vehicle and I can just connect it to my phone, slap the scan button, and watch it work. Even if it doesn't come with the ability to magically fix the issue, I can at least apply the information it provides me and know in a very short amount of time what I'm up against. Not much else to say -- very happy with it.One regret worth mentioning about this product -- I should have picked one up ages ago.
