This was exactly what my amateur chef wanted.

I got this because I recently started making homemade food for my dog and wanted a cheap pot. It's definitely nowhere near professional level as it is pretty thin, but for my purposes it works fine. If you were constantly carrying it around full of heavy food, I do not think it would last. In fact, it feels like it would dent heavily or even rupture if dropped with a lot of weight in it.If you are looking for a "beater" pot that you don't mind messing up though, this is a great choice. I only make about 4 days of food at a time so it only really gets half full.It's pretty easy to clean but requires a little bit of extra scrubbing at the rivets where the handles connect. Keep in mind that it is aluminum, which is very soft for a metal, so you want to use wood or silicone utensils in it. Anything made of metal will scratch it badly, but that's more of a general truth about aluminum and nothing to do with this pot or its construction.

I suspected this might happen...the cheaper pot should be the 8 qt.. I need/want the 12 qt (priced cheaper). I hoped that it would be picked by the fact that I chose 12 qt, but sadly the 8 qt is what I received. It is a cheap thin pot. I'm using it to dye a my wedding dress to transform into something new. So I needed/wanted a cheap pot that will likely get tossed afterward because it will no longer be food safe. For my purpose this pot is great. I would NOT want to cook in this pot because it is SO thin/light weight.

Great 👍 but it stains easily

Like the size just ordered makings for beef stew should be great. Will advise.
