Very nice American WWII submarine
I bought mine at a World War II museum, but its neat to see it available on Amazon, so anybody can get it any time they want, and a second chance if you didn't get it while at an attraction or ahead of a visit. Its really quite sturdy and could be enjoyed by older elementary school age children as much as adults. For its size and construction its quite detailed, looks to be a Gato or perhaps Balao class submarine, both used in large numbers in World War II, especially in the Pacific against the Japanese. There are several real boats like this scattered around the US that you can tour. Since the pencil sharpener that all such objects have is on the underside its not obvious or detracting from its appearance at all, and would work as a sharpener. The price is also good. Highly recommended.
