I had tried several cat scratchers including the corrugated cardboard variety, a half log that I placed on the floor, and some boards screwed to the wall but my cat ignored everything except my oak teacher's desk, which I got on salvage from the local school system and refinished when I was 14, which I was not overly fond of. The scratching, not the desk. Update: many months later my cat continues to use this regularly. She clearly finds this to be a satisfying scratch. Anyway, I read an article that said cats tend to be either horizontal or vertical scratchers (who knew?) and it occurred to my that mine might be the latter so I bought this. The design permits folding into a compact form for shipping so don't freak out when a small box arrives. It assembles easily and is quite sturdy. It is about as attractive as an item of this kind can be. My cat ignored it at first but I encouraged her by using it myself when she scratched (it is surprisingly soothing) and eventually she caught on. Now she has quite taken to it and it is her go-to scratcher. She is a fairly large cat and the height allows her to extend in a way that seems to please her. The toy hanging on the top has so far not interested her. I suspect if it were suspended away from the post it would be an improvement. However, overall it is quite a nice item and I recommend it.

The best scratching post, no doubt. The best one you can get for your cats. I have nothing bad to say about it. I spent a long time looking for one that would work for my cats, but none of them were good enough. This one is simple, practical, and durable, and my cats love it. I would buy it again a thousand times.

My cat loves this. It’s sturdy. The base is heavy so it never tips over and my cat uses it all the time. Also, when the bottom section gets completely scratched out, you can unscrew the top section and screw it into the base. Definitely get your moneys worth since you can use it much longer

My cat is on the larger side and this is perfect for him. I tried finding him a scratcher at Petco and Petsmart, but they were all a bit too expensive/out of our price point. I also ventured into HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. and while they all offered cheaper scratchers, the scratchers were tiny and flimsy. This one is sturdy, for the most part. We did build it a little lopsided but that's because I had to build it alone. It takes two people. One to hold the base open and another to insert the screw. That being said, there are also zero assembly instructions. Those are the only downsides. Aside from that, even though it's leaning to one side, it's held up so far. It's even held up to his constant assaults on it. so, TLDR; PROS: - Affordable - Good quality for the price - Good for larger cats - Sturdy; won't topple even when cat is trying his best to flip it over - Extra replacement toy CONS: - a little tricky to assemble alone - no instructions

Have purchased two of the grey 31.5” scratching posts. Our cat loves them! They’re tall enough that he can get a good stretch. We have one on each floor and it’s helped with him scratching the furniture.

I have to buy one every 6 or 7 months, my 4 cats love it so much! It has saved my furniture. They will literally lay next to it all day. Easy to put together, I even bought a self groomer to put around it that they love as well. Best $20 you will ever spend.

This an excellent value for cats who like to scratch--obviously most do. We have several indoor cats and have several larger cat scratchers which they do like. This smaller and less expensive unit is great for kittens--the original reason we bought it--but also smaller cats. They last a long time but that of course depends upon the usage but it is a quality item and easy to put together plus at a great price.

Bought both. Not as impressed with the thinner one but it's still a pretty decent quality for what it is. However, the big squared one is absolutely amazing! I have two Maine Coon mix breed boys, both brothers and they are chaos when they play. One of them will literally jump attack the scratching post and knock it down. One thing is the construction isn't that great because it's nailed together and when he does knock it down it can pop off, the scratching area of it but still worth the purchase and would purchase again. Can totally fix that with some hot glue just to make sure it doesn't pop open when you're not around and can quickly pop the exposed nails back in. But seriously use a glue gun because you're not going to find a better scratching post for large breed cats. My boy is love it so much and they like to perch on top of it like little gargoyles.

Franchement très bon arbre à chat d’intérieur. Ma chatte l’utilise tous les jours, que ce soit pour jouer, grimper ou faire ses griffes. Il est stable et assez costaud, il a bien tenu dans le temps malgré une utilisation quotidienne. Je l’ai changé au bout d’un an et demi, mais vu la qualité j’ai repris exactement le même sans hésiter. Bon rapport qualité/prix, je recommande 👍

He comprado muchos rascadores y me han regalado otros tantos. Este es sin duda el mejor con diferencia que tengo. Es muy alto y para gatos ya adultos es maravilloso. No se ha deshecho (como el resto) y lo usan muchísimo.
