If you are training a pup to do guide work this is a great option if you have a harness to clip this to. It will not be longer than about a foot from the dogs back but even for our tiny Aussie doodle puppy this is enough length for my wife’s SDIT to do light guide work and get used to the harness and handle. My wife says the feed back is pretty good but not the same as a $150 handle, but gets the job done pretty well. Our SDIT is a bouncy, spinning puppy but this handle prevents her from twirling and gives adequate feedback for the handler. My wife did have to get a couple double sided clips to extend the handle but as puppy grows this will become a none issue. My wife highly reccomends these if you are getting your SDIT used to the sensory of hanresses and handles.

I am teaching my 99 pound 3 year old lab to be my helper by me holding onto to the bridge handle and have him help me with my balance and strength. The handle attaches perfectly to Active Dog service dog vest. We have been training for 3 days. I am creating words for him to learn about how to be a helper dog, pulling me when needed, as I am a71 year old slightly built, disabled grandma who needs help when walking.my dog now has a job to learn, which gives him purpose. We recently lost my husband to an auto accident, so this project, using the bridge handle, is something I researched for both my dog and myself to not only bond but to create a meaningful job for us. Lucky is so full of life and misses his Dad so much, when he puts on his vest and handle he knows we will be sharing one on one training time. This handle and vest size XL are perfect for us. Fits extremely well, handle just the correct length. VERY HAPPY. I will be purchasing the same set up for my 11year old lab because he is so jealous!

This is a very comfortable handle for my dog and for me. I attached it to her service vest and it works well.

Clipping onto the harness it works. Being easily to be able to grab and hold it works. The service dog embroidering is not attached if not paying attention it can slide off. I walk my dog on her leech and when others are near if need be I will reach down and grab the handle and hold it with hopes that they don't talk to my daughter I don't advertise fully out there with the best has hurt being the service animal in the all the other patches and everything else. Actually don't need her to have a vest or say any of that because I walk with an ambulatory device therefore I don't need any of that however I try to keep people from talking to her and doing things when I have her sitting and waiting so I have this but I said it moves it slides if you're not paying attention you'll lose it.

I purchased this to add to my mobility assitance dog’s vest. (I wanted to acclimate him to the tool before I gave you a review so I could be fair and honest) Once he was acclimated to the tool we went out to work. The product performs very well. At first (given that my mobility dog is a Rottweiler) I must admit I was a little wary of the fact that it has plastic clips. However given that he was tasking at heel with just his vest and the handle within basically 5 minutes of accimation my worries were for not. (I trust my dog I do not trust other people’s dogs) If you have a shorter dog (I do not my partner is a large powerful breed) this handle would be a very good fit for a vest that already has a handle, but the handle isn’t quite long enough to comfortably use. I am not saying I would use the handle to completely replace a leash but on my partner has been trained with a gentle leader and when working with this handle on his vest he is able to go without the gentle leader. Even a handle like this with plastic clips on a well trained dog is more than capable of holding up to a power breed. I would not suggest you use it on a dog who does not walk heel and I would not suggest you use it on a dog use is still in training. Still over all a very sturdy product. I will probably order another one so I don’t have to keep switching this one between his vests.

This handle is very nice, comfortable in my hand, and has great functionality. Can't see an issue with it, the clasps are metal now.

I’m only 5ft and I’ve got a field spaniel assistance dog, this lead is about 3 inches too short to comfortably use with her. So think twice if you’re going to use this on a short dog, it’s definitely more designed for bigger dogs like labs and Alsatians
