Dot 3rd Gen Outlet Mount The Original | Designed in the USA | White, 1-Pack

I got this to replace a 2nd gen Dot and holder, to mount a 3rd gen Dot on a wall outlet. I like the design better than the old holder. It has a cable space in the back so you can just leave the original cable on the Dot and wrap the cable in a circular fashion inside the hanger. The old style shipped with a short cable. While I imagine this new design helps save costs for the manufacturer (no need to provide a short cable), it also is one less thing for me to store around the house. If I ever move the Dot, which I sometimes do as I upgrade/add devices, there is no need for me to go looking in a drawer for the old , longer cable. This works as advertised. It grasps the dot, doesn't obstruct speakers or controls, etc.

I decided to replace my 2nd gen bathroom (don't judge me) Dot with a 3rd gen unit in order to take advantage of the much better sound. I previously used a Dot Genie outlet mount which was perfect, but the new 3rd gen Dot presents new challenges for the mount suppliers, and, other than a few folks marketing mounts that cover the other outlet, there are no choices for me, as the second outlet is crucial to me, as you can see in the photo. That's a power strip plugged into the second outlet. That said, this mount is close to perfect for what is does. Because of my needs, I had to mount it in a vertical position, and although I had to turn the Dot upside down due to the power connection requirement, the unit is tight, flush, and looks great. I'm very happy with the setup and will be buying more, since I'm going to replace all of my Dots with new ones. This is a no brainer purchase if you need to make a little room.

I love these Dot Genie wall mounts for my Amazon Dot! I purchased the dots first and didn't really think much about the fact the I would now have an ugly, but necessary power cord dangling from my dot to the outlet...all the time, ugh. I hate untidy cords that dangle everywhere and almost considered not using the dots because that just makes me crazy...until I came across these wall mounts! I looked at several different styles and manufactures and this brand made the most sense to me. They are nothing fancy; the beauty is in the simplicity of the product and the huge difference they make in decluttering your countertop! They can hang either up or down depending on what else needs to share the outlet and keep the dot up off the counter nice and neat. I love how easy it was to wrap the cord around the back of the mount, keeping it completely hidden from view. I plan to purchase more dots and will be sure to include more mounts at the same time, as they are a must-have.

Ok it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the cord wrapped up even though the instructions said frustration proof installation, but then I am blonde and was really over thinking it. Just put it in there after the plug and dot are in place. I think the plastic is a little thin so may break if someone was rough with it and again if someone brushed up against it while it was hanging may also knock the dot out but really it seems secure enough if treated nice enough. This dot and holder is the one I use in the kitchen but with this holder I can also easily move it outside when I want music out there and not have to deal with cords. Yes I would buy again.

After buying the Dot Genie, I wish that Amazon had originally designed the echo dot to be outlet mounted. I am now a huge fan of the Dot Genie and bought 4 of them for my 3rd gen echo dots (2 white ones for the Sandstones and 2 black ones for the Gray and Charcoal). I freed up counterspace/table space and lost the cord clutter. I also like the fact that it is easy to move the dot from one outlet/room to another without having to mess with the cord. I also feel like I can position the dot in more ideal locations providing more of an "intercom" feel and better voice recognition (even if it is an outlet near the floor -- like 2 of them in my photos). I had to hang one Genie "upside down" because of the counter backsplash, and the Genie became top heavy and does not stay completely flush to the wall. The mount is secure and I am not afraid that it will fall from the outlet, so this is more of an aesthetics issue for me. I am considering using removable foam tape to hold it flush. Other reviewers mentioned that the buttons are also upside down, but I rarely use the buttons so this was a non-issue for me. The assembly was a breeze and the cord easily wrapped up inside the back of the mount. I like the fact that there was ample room for the cord so that it is completely concealed, unlike other designs that I researched.

I find these Echo Dot 3rd gen (i.e., hockey Puck style) "Dot Genies" to be so convenient that I prefer the 3rd gen over the 4th gen Echo Dots in several applications. We have these installed in our upstairs common hallway (great for announcements for those in their bedrooms), our master bedroom (command central), and now our master bathroom (I know, seems unnecessary...). Given we own three, a review is in order. Simply put, these Dot Genies work very well. Suspending the gen 3 Echo Dots from an outlet with this product seems to actually improve their audio performance. Of course, it primarily provides a neat, tidy and compact form factor. It also makes it easy to move an Echo Dot around the house (assuming one doesn't have an Echo device in every room); literally just unplug, plug & play. The only knock on this product (and presumably every similar product available) is that the offset isn't large enough to account for the difference between the surface of the electrical outlet plate and the wall. Thus, the Echo Dot won't sit flush on the wall. Happily, I found an easy solution that works perfectly! Just install some self-adhesive rubber bumpers (the type used for kitchen cabinets & drawers) on the underside of the Dot Genie. Once applied, the Echo Dot will be squarely aligned to the outlet and sit flush on the wall with its rubber feet (bumpers)! There are many similar looking products on the market; some are cheaper. However, I settled on this one because the speaker is not obstructed by the clasping mechanism. The speaker is also very securely attached, but can be removed from the Dot Genie without damage if desired. So, a solid 5 out of 5 starts (provided rubber bumpers are used).

Buy this! You will wonder how you ever lived without it. I absolutely LOVE this! Hides that pesky cord and saves space on your counter, desk, nightstand, etc. Fits flush to the wall, supports the speaker without compromising the sound output. My friends and family came over and saw mine and ordered themselves one. This looks so nice in my bathroom. I ordered one black and one white...if the face of your speaker is black get that color and vice versa for white. TIP: put the adapter in place first, THEN situate your cord and attach speaker. Directions are not very clear so I attached a rough “pictorial”. Hope this helps someone. :)

This is a much needed add on for the echo dot, I am very happy, so far, with this purchase! What I liked about this product: First, it was shipped in its own box and placed inside of a shipping envelope. It was delivered one day earlier than promised, which doesn’t always happen, so that was nice. This mounting bracket comes with instructions and it’s very easy to use. As can be seen in the pictures, submitted with this review, there are no wires visible since they are coiled up behind the echo dot. I plugged my Dot in the top plug but that’s my choice, it can be rotated down and plugged into the bottom plug. Either way I have use of my other plug, again as can be seen by the pictures included with this review. Lastly, the bracket itself is light weight but feels somewhat durable. It is my opinion that if you want to use your echo dot as a portable device, it can be moved as simply as unplugging it and moving it. I would suggest that it be removed from the outlet by pulling on the dot plug and not use any twisting action. In all, for the money I am happy with this purchase and believe that this mounting bracket is worth the money for looks/organization, and adding the option of mobility to the echo dot.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I’m able to utilize the plug I wanted even though I have no shelf nearby. Easy to install, looks neat and tidy, no cord showing. Would recommend and would buy again!

I wish I'd known about this sooner. Super easy to install. I find that popping the device in the holder first, then coiling the cord in the back, then popping in the plug with the cord facing downwards is the easiest. It makes all my devices tidy on the outlet. I love that the cords are all tucked away and that my young kids can't get all tangled in them anymore. Definitely buying this product again if I get additional devices.
