Great product, I disagree with those who said that it is hard to use
First of all I'd like to say that I have both Back and Shoulder problems and reaching my back can be difficult for me. I am 6'1" and have a long torso and I found that this product was great. It was sturdy and efficiently relieves me of itching. I've had it for almost a month now and use it a couple times each day at least. I'd also like to say that other than those cheaply made wooden ones from the dollar store this is the only back scratcher I've purchased. I saw cheaper ones, some metal and some wood, but what caught my eye and made this stand out was 1) the curved design and 2) the scratch pad. I've read people saying it was too thin. The wood is sturdy with a nice finish. I measured it just over a half inch by a quarter inch and is very sturdy. If they're talking about the scratch pad being thin, all you have to do is move it while you scratch to cover more area. I've read people saying it was too short or hard to use, that it keeps rolling over, it is too slippery or underperforms. Maybe this is more of an operator problem than product problem. So I'm' going to help you by telling you how I use it so that it is efficient. The two pictures demonstrate where I hold the product. 1) Scratch pad - When I want to use the scratch pad and am going under my shoulder (shown in picture) I seat my thumb in the curved area of the opposite side applying pressure with my index finger (pointer) and middle finger. The ring finger and pinky rest on the back of the wood providing support and control. If I am using the scratcher by going over my shoulder, the thumb is still seated inside the curve and I just use my index and middle fingers for support and control. 2) Finger side (not sure what they call this side officially)- Going over my shoulder I hold my thumb at the inner end of the scratch pad while the other fingers provide support and control (shown in picture). If I am going under my shoulder I simply pivot the scratcher 180 degrees with my thumb in the same area, all 4 fingers again in the back for support and control. Using this product the ways I described above with over 50 uses, I could reach my entire back easily, no slips, no problem with the length, no problem with the thickness of the ends, and never rolled over once. I hope this helps

The Best ... and I've tried them all!
I have tried just about every back scratcher on the market. The metal ones don't feel that good and the telescoping ones give out fast and break into pieces. The ones that feel good and do the job are always too big for me to use ... and/or the handles are not long enough ... are shaped in a way you can't apply good pressure ... or flex/bend when you don't want them to, etc.. Personally, I need a back scratcher that I can slide up under my bra near my shoulder blade. For some reason that area gives me problems ... but sometimes everyone needs a good back scratch. The ITCHSTIX Back Scratcher does have some give, but not too much. It works easily over clothing, or under clothing. It doesn't rip into your skin. The length, angle and ability to flex are all perfect. It easily performs better than any that I have tried before ... which have been a lot. Of course it is also good for reaching an itch anywhere from your foot on up. I have long hair and I even use it in bed to free my hair after it has wrapped itself around my neck ... and, you can even use it for turning off the alarm clock. I highly recommend it. When I made my initial purchase it was for two of them. I am back to purchase another two to put away. If the cost doesn't double or triple, like so many things on Amazon do after they get good reviews, then I will purchase more to give away. I wish I had been able to give my Grandfather one of these. He died in 1975. At that time I didn't hardly know what an 'itch' was! ... but, I used to scratch his back for him. He would have appreciated having one of these. So, this would make a great gift for your parents and grandparents ... just get them each their own!

99% perfect.
This thing is almost perfect. I wear a vest at work and the curve helps reach down past my shoulders. The bristles are the perfect level of scratchiness. The tip gets caught on my t-shirt so I'm going to sand it down, that's my only complaint. I have two, one for work and one for home. It should be about six inches longer though.

BEST BEST BEST back scratcher EVER!!!
If you use back scratchers a lot for itchy skin, and can't reach the middle of your own back well, this item is the BEST GADGET EVER!!! Curved, so it hits ALL the spots. Normal curved hand scratch side, plus extra yummy bristly teeth side. When you have a really deep itch, that's the side you want. I just love everything about this scratcher. I've tried lots of them. This one's my favorite.

An Honest Review From Someone Who's Used It For A While
I've had this back scratcher for a while now so it's an honest review from someone who's been using it long enough to have a valid opinion. I'm 80 years old so I'm not that flexible at reaching around to my back. That was my problem with conventional back scratchers. This one does help me a lot. It's easier to maneuver although I will say it's not perfect. The "scratchy" end of the back scratcher does give satisfying results. You don't have to, and you shouldn't, apply too much pressure to get a nice "scratch". Overall, this was the best back scratcher I've had since getting up in years so I do recommend it. Sorry to say, at the time of this writing, it says it's now unavailable. Hopefully it comes back or you can find a similar one.

BEST EVER!
OMG! best back scratcher ever! The length and curve of the wood is perfect and both ends of the scratcher are so effective, my favorite is the spiked end! I received one as a gift (I had it on my wish list) and I love it so much I bought 2 more (one for each room)!

As seasons change, those who walk or do other things outside, get salty and itchy.
I am about to buy my 7th. They so hit the spot that they leave other tools such as this in the dust. Especially as the seasons changed, I have one at my desk, in my bathroom, in my car and give them as an affordable gift. I tell people why I gave it to them and after they try it, they tell me that they agree that there is nothing I could buy for any amount of money that would do any better.
