Minoura Basic Material Space Mount

Amazing quality as expected from a Japanese manufacturer.They don't have a locking mechanism to keep them closed. But they haven't come loose so maybe they don't need one.My 2 only complaints. 1 if they used a titanium screw instead of stainless steel they would be much lighter. 2 the 5mm metric thread on the top for attaching accessories is inconvenient if you are in the USA. I wish they had a slightly thicker version that was threaded in 1/4-20. I was able to get an adapter but it would be easier and lighter to just have a more versatile thread.If you need to attach something to a bike or just a round bar these work very well. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to attach a lightweight camera and doesn't want to add much weight.

These mounts are VERY easy to install. I'm using two Minoura mounts for a bottle holder ...that in turn is holding a very expensive BlueTooth "bottle" speaker... consequently I wanted a very rigid, stable, sturdy mount.The Minoura mounts are very substantial, and they do NOT budge... or even vibrate slightly. If you'll be using these on a down tube, top tube, or seat post tube... and you're concerned about your paint... Minoura provides two clear strips (of different thicknesses) to protect your paint. The strips are NOT "shims" needed to take up slack, since the Minoura mounts are fully adjustable. My "oversize" red label versions adjust from 27mm to 35mm ...and they could be utilized sans clear strips, if desired, on unpainted or chrome surfaces. (The ad indicates that the smaller "standard" black label versions have a smaller adjustable range of 22mm to 29mm).Once you've utilized the set screw to adjust them to their correct diameter, they retain that setting and can be snapped off and on to the same tube without needing additional adjustments.The down side is that they do "look" a bit more bulky than a single size "made to fit" CNC or Billet accessory clamp/mount. Because of the "bulk" or diameter of the Minoura mount's adjustment mechanism, the actual mounting surface (where you would attach your device), will hover approximately one inch above your attached tube. If you were using a "single size" CNC or Billet accessory clamp/mount, that distance would be less than half (but I suspect your cost would be doubled).Overall, I subtracted ONE star because the mount, once installed, appears a bit "bulkier" and less attractive than I expected from the photos. I'm hoping the folks from Minoura will devise a slimmed down "version two" in the future. These mounts are a sturdy, robustly engineered device that offer exceptional value, and I would buy them again (given the options available).

Very suitable for the purpose. I use mine to mount a hand-held GPS to my mountain-bike stem (with some custom home-engineering). It is secure the way I rigged it, but the lever is somewhat difficult to flip when adjusted tight enough to hold my (heavy) GPS. And the little toggle lever is not quite thick/strong enough, because it tends to bend when I flip it. But it is admirable that it holds my GPS absolutely rigidly in place over the roughest single-track trails, riding aggressively and even wiping-out from time to time.

Before purchasing the Space Mount I purchased a product called the Swing Mount. The Swing Mount is designed to make space for a cyclocomputer and other bicycle accessories designed to be mounted on the handlebar. However, the Swing Mount mounting system, while adequate, was less than desirable. The Space Mount replaced the Swing Mount's mounting system and works much better. In addition, the Space Mount's design allows the anything attached to the Space Mount to be easily removed from the handlebars to prevent theft.

This mount does exactly what it claims to do - it provides a quick-release mount that you can screw something onto and attach it to your bike. I used mine to attach a water bottle cage to the handle bars of my upright city bike. Works perfectly - the bottle cage is very secure and can be removed on a whim. Couldn't ask for more.

Bought for my lightsaber, not bike worked fine.

Good quality material, many ways to use it. I add a big O ring to hold the flip lock so that won't open accidentally.

ダイハツハイゼットが2021年7月に納車。雪国なので除雪スコップなどをキャビンガードの鳥居に固定できないかと、あるプラスティック製の製品を購入したのですが、グラつきなどの不安定さにイラついていました。ミノウラさんの「多目的ホルダー 軽量 スペースマウント SM-2229」と、サムコスさんの「ハンドルバー ホルダー バイク LEDフォグランプ 作業灯 ブラケット Φ18～Φ30ｍｍ」を組み合わせればと、ダメもとで購入してみました。こりゃぁ最高です。シッカリ鳥居に固定できました。大満足です！！ちなみに、多目的ホルダーの固定ねじはM5。ハンドルバーホルダーの接続ねじはM6だったので、付属のM6を使わず、別のM5ねじで多目的ホルダーを固定しました。ハンドルバーホルダーの固定ねじは凹六角なので鳥居を外して固定しました。ハハハハハ…自分的に笑いがとまらない。
