We have two 20W zappers: one in the garage and one near the kitchen door; and, we use a single 10W bulb in each zapper 24 hours a day. After ordering replacement bulbs on two occasions, one year and two years ago, each bulb has lasted more than one year, perhaps because we leave them on continuously. The bulbs have worked well keeping our areas free of bugs and the harvest has been impressive. Four stars because one bulb was a struggle to install as if the pins were a bit too long. Having used other brands before, we are pleased to continue buying these bulbs.

Arrived with the box in perfect condition and the packaging was really well done so I doubt shipping had anything to do with the bulbs condition. One bulb was defective out of the box (you could see a white light inside of the bulb near one end within the first few seconds of lighting up). Both bulbs have a little bit of a rattle inside like something is loose inside of the bulbs. I actually thought one was broken or something because of the sound they made when taking them out of the packaging. I have the bug zapper from this company and the bulbs lasted 10 months so I was hoping replacement bulbs from the same company would at least last a while. They aren't cheap enough to warrant them being defective after a short period and especially right out of the box. I tried to find another brand to buy when I saw the reviews before purchasing them but other brands on Amazon had even worse reviews and I couldn't find any ultra violet tube lights available elsewhere that I could buy. I wish there was some company that would just make good products for us even if they cost a little more. If they were twice as much but lasted 5 years it would be well worth it.
