Perfect for 2002 Boxter 986
Perfect fit and easy to install. If you are installing this in a Porsche 986 Boxer, you'll need a Torx 25 screwdriver, and your fingers, and 5 minutes. Open the hood over the front trunk. Remove the battery cover moving the twist knobs one quarter turn, the lift up. (Didn't work, turn the knobs one quarter turn more. That should do it.) To the left of the battery (passenger side on north american cars), there is a cover held down with one T25 screw. Unscrew that and remove the cover. The air filter is tucked under the dash. Just lift it out and discard. Take the new filter out of the box and place it where the old filter sat. The exposed ribs go on the top, the foam ridge goes on the bottom. Push it until it lays flat. Replace the filter cover (put the tab in the groove) and refasten the screw. Replace the battery cover (again tabs in the groove first) turn the locking knobs so the battery cover is snug. Close the hood and put your screwdriver away. You're done!

Why pay more.
Fits my Porsche Boxster perfectly. $50 cheaper than the one from the dealership and appears to be of high quality.

Works fine so far. It was easy to install and fit as advertised. I have no complaints, although it is often hard to fault the use of a filter if it fits and performs as advertised. No weird smells or prying it into the filter seat. I would recommend this to others.

Don't have a shop do this for you, it takes 2 minutes.
This filter is the easiest thing to replace on a Porsche. Might also be the cheapest. The charcoal version is grey, and I notice repair shops tell the owners the filter is dirty when it is not, it comes that way. The shops charge $200 to replace, will cost you $18 DIY. You can do this!

Fits an '06 Porsche Cayman S
The booklet included with the filter shows installation in a Boxster, but the differences for the Cayman are minor. There is a plastic clip on inboard end of the Cayman's filter box that must be flipped down to allow removal of the old filter and held down out of the way while the new filter is slid into place. The filter is an exact fit in a tight space under the cowling so if the filter seems as if it is too big to seat, it means that you do not yet have it lined up quite right on top of the filter box. When it finally seats, flip up the clip on the end of the fiter box to hold the filter in place. I last changed the filter 19 months ago. Today there was the dried grass of an old mouse nest covering half of the filter, although it had no obvious effect on the cabin ventilation. The part of the filter not covered by the nest was not clogged. When the dried grass from the mouse nest was removed for a visual inspection of the filter, the filter media there was not clogged either. However, the critters had chewed on the ridges of some of the filter pleats, making some tiny holes large enough to let in dust particles. So even if you haven't driven the car enough to suck much dirt into the filter, it pays to take a peek at the filter once a year or so.

Exact fit, excellent quality
Whenever replacing the air filter for the car, it is good to replace the cabin filter; the occupants and the engine both breathe clean air. This fits exactly in the boxster cabin filter spot and the activated charcoal improves filtering and reduces oders, while still being quite inexpensive.

Perfect!!
Fit like a charm in a 2006 997.1 carrera S. Easy to install as well. I have a couple of volvo's where the installation looks much more difficult. Surprised Porsche actually made something easy to do.
