My first impression was poor because when I opened the box the corner where hinges meet was cracked. I hastily began to write a negative review solely based on observation, but not function.. I was going to return it, but decided to give it a try. After a few minutes of using it and growing accustomed to its function, I realize just how efficient and handy this tool is.. I initially thought the size was going to be too small but it’s actually perfect to scoop grab and place leaves in your trashcan or container. I would like a replacement for the cracked piece but I will say it functions fine as is . I’ may contact customer service but even with the damage it works great

My neighbor has the yellow one, and really liked it, so I decided to take a chance on this. We have tons of oak leaves, 4 maple trees and 2 dogwoods, so no shortage of leaves. The oak leaves are the majority, and I rake from October into March, depending on how much snow we get, the yard is never cleaned up. So it's pretty backbreaking. This rake is AWESOME, not as a rake, it's a dud, but as a pickup tool. It was a little more challenging for us to put together than expected considering that my husband is a mechanical marvel at such things, but once together it works great (I think we had it backwards). The one pictured is yellow, I received green, but I don't really care, although the yellow would be easier to spot if left out in the yard. This is my third type of pickup rake, and it's my favorite. It holds the leaves well until you can maneuver them into a basket. For anyone with an aching back (or not) and an average to ample supply of leaves, it's a godsend. Just remember, you need a regular rake to rake them up, then this does all your picking up. UPDATE: It's almost a year later and I'm still in love with this rake for picking up leaves for bagging. It has saved my back over and over. Highly recommended!

Before the 'Amazing Rake' I used to use two snow shovels or a rake and a snow shovel to pick up leaf piles. The Amazing Rake simplifies the process and is much lighter the two implements. There is room for improvement, however. First, the capacity is rather small. The 18" width should be at least 24" and the belly (curve) of the two halves could be deeper. Second, the lock is pretty fussy. It works, but it's so hard to use, it's just not worth it. Finally, the teeth of the rake are not nearly as effective as a 'normal' rake. All in all, the Amazing Rake works as advertised, but needs a bit more refinement to make it worth the price.

I love this rake! It is a rake and leaf scooper in one. I can rake leaves, use the jaws to scoop them up, and put them into a leaf bag in one motion without needing to stop or bend over. It turns what would normally be a one-hour job into 15 - 30 minutes of work. The locking feature is very convenient if you have already captured leaves in the rake's jaws but need to open a leaf bag and don't want to lose any of the leaves you have already collected. The rake is very sturdy, and I am able to rake the leaves in the road in front of my home without breaking any teeth.

I was very excited to get this rake, as I was killing my back trying to rake magnolia leaves and magnolia cones and then bag them up before I mowed. I am 61 years old and it gets very tiring. I put the rake together, but one of the hooks that hook into the rake didn't want to hook on . I finally got it on, but it didn't seem to want to stay in. I had to keep putting it back in. I was able to rake and grab leaves that same day and it was a godsend.. I used it a second time the next weekend and in the middle of me trying to grab leaves that same hook broke, rendering it almost useless for what I wanted it for. I'm hoping that particular rake just had a flaw in it. As the rake wasn't too expensive, I may get another one, but if it happens again, I would have to ask for my money back, because that would be two that broke on me... All in all, I love the rake and hope a different one will not break on me. If it does, those magnolia leaves and cones will just have to stay on the ground. :) If it hat not been for that hook breaking, I would have given it 5 stars..

It's fall season and they call it "Fall" for a reason. We have leaves all over our house. I ordered this rake a couple weeks ago and have raked up 40 bags of leaves with this rake. It has easy assembly, ease of use, no bending, easy pick up and bagging. I give it 5 stars. It works great! The only possible drawback I see if the rake is made of plastic, not metal. That being the case, I don't know how long it will last or if it will break in a short period of time. But then again, it won't rust either. I'd recommend this rake to anyone reading this!!

My bf purchased this in an effort to simplify and help with our crazy amount of sugar pine needles that fall all year round here in the Sierras. I already had pre-raked piles of needles that included a few pine cones with a standard metal-fingered rake, so just a little raking was needed before scooping and closing down on the piles. Pretty quickly the hinge began to pop out of the notches a bit after a few times of closing it over some piles of needles, then I would have to use my foot to kind of assist it to close as the handle mechanism was not budging without the assist, and after filling two 45 gallon trash bags it snapped along the hinge area. I wish I had a photo, but recently put it out with the trash. HUGE waste of money, and more crap in the landfill! Maybe it would work better with some super light grass clippings or dry leaves, but it just cannot handle mountain work!

This is a great tool. This is actually a replacement for the one we have been using, that finally broke. But we have used it for years and it's so much better than breaking your back to pick up leaves. I cannot imaging doing yard work without this! We have a magnolia tree in the front and oak trees in the back and this does it all with no trouble! Highly recommend!!!

I am a landscaper so I use this tool very often doing spring and fall leaf cleanups. and clean up after shrub trimming. I initially purchased this item from Princess Auto but purchased only one and that was my mistake. I regret my cautious approach to buying it thinking it may not be durable being made of plastic. After using it for the first time, I was amazed by the quality and practicality. It is also very ergonomic. As a result of my excitement I went back to the store to but another one but unfortunately it turned out to be a special buy which means they will not sell it anymore. Being so disappointed I searched online and found it on amazon.ca and didn't even think twice so I placed and order. Just received it today and I am extremely happy. I've noticed that the manufacturer has made some quality improvements which makes this amazing tool even better. No more screws. It comes disassembled but it takes 2 minutes to put it together. Everything snaps in place. You can also adjust the length of th handle to your liking and then there is a lock on the handle for transport or storage purposes so the main part of the rake doesn't stay open which would be more vulnerable to accidentaL damage. I would very highly recommend this tool. I wanted to place another order for this tool at amazon.ca but it is unavailable so I ended up ordering online and the item will be delivered to Home Depot In Niagara Falls , N.Y. where I have to go to pick it up. By the way, I bought my very first amazing rake approimately 9 years ago and still using it professionally. I would recommend this tool with a heart beat. Light and efficient.

This is expensive but does the job. When you first open the box you will be surprised by the cheap plastic construction but once you start to use it you find that it actually works to pick up the leaves. It takes some getting used to to find the right way to use it the best.

Best invention ever

Leaves and debris fall easily out of sides of rake when turning it just slightly. Not a time saving tool.
