Fits my antex c18 soldering iron and see how it lasts?

I nave a 40 year old ANTEX iron model CCN 15 Watts 230/240 volts. As images show the tip which came with it was extremely worn. This model iron is no longer made. I didn't expect to be able to get a replacement but a call to a very helpful ANTEX advised that I needed a tip from the 1100 series range. I believe these tips are used for the current ANTEX CS & TCS irons. PERFECT FIT: The new tip fits perfectly it is is a good tight push fit onto the shaft so all should be okay. DESIGN CHANGE: There has been a design change over the 40 years. My old tip was held in place by an external spring clip. The new design has a spring clip built into the inside. I understand that these internal spring clips can be replaced and are available as spares from ANTEX. VALUE FOR MONEY - COMPARABLE WITH OTHER PROFESSIONAL IRON TIPS : Some reviewers have commented that the tips are expensive. I do not concur. ANTEX is a quality iron and the quality and design of the tip matches- it is not just a lump of copper. ANTEX like Weller irons are used in professional electronics work and are recognised as excellent quality. Weller iron tips are around £5-6. So £4.95 for a replacement tip for an ANTEX professional tool is not unreasonable. The tip is the all important part of the iron, it is the thing which makes the iron function, on professional irons the tip is critical to how the iron performs. So £4.95 to effectively renew/replace the iron is not much. Not used the iron yet so cannot comment on the effectiveness of the tip but I am not expecting any problems. The key requirement is that it fits to the iron so that an effective heat transfer is possible which it does.

This replaces the older type of bit as well - the one with a sort of collar around it. It didn't say it did so I bought it on a bit of a gamble. Anyway, it just slips over the iron's shaft and has some sort of gripping mechanism inside it so holds it perfectly. Otherwise, no problem at all.

After trying a cheap Chinese solder station I decided to dig out my old Antex TCSU 1 Solder station with the XSTC 40w iron. The existing tip which could be over 30 years old, although working, looked a little sorry for itself. So treated it to this new tip. Fluxed this new tip while the iron heated up and tinned as soon as I could. This tip is slightly smaller than the original as I'm working on some rather small connections with 30AWG wire. As expected, this tip allows more control over heat transfer than the wider tip. At one point I did consider purchasing another Antex station with a reflow gun. But this tip at under £5 was a lot cheaper than the £160 for the new station. While there still appears to be a lot of life left in the old dog, I'll save my money for now. This tip does what it should and has a tighter fit than the old external securing ring on the original.

Fast speedy service, fantastic product as advertised

The simple method of being able to exchange/change bits by sliding them on and off is really good. No more having to wait for the iron to cool down and fiddling with small screws. NOTE: The bit is still hot so wear protective gloves when changing bits!

The tip had broken on my very old CS18 soldering iron (around 30 years old). Arrived next day, fitted perfect. Up and running again no problem.

I have an RS iron that looks very like an Antex CS18, and the bit fits that fine. My existing bit had an external spring clip, but this one has some sort of internal spring clip instead, but it fits snugly, no problem. I bought mine on Amazon but direct from Antex (see the other sellers link) because that was cheaper than from Amazon direct.
