Flow Security Systems...Lock it down!
Our work facility has several hose bibs around the building. Unfortunately, we have had issues with people randomly using our water and not shutting the valves off completely. I found these little beauties on Amazon and they did the trick. Easy to install, just follow the directions. The key slides into the cover and allows you to fasten the fitting to the threaded nozzle. Take the key out and the cap will not unscrew. Genius! I'm getting a couple more for my own use. It works like a charm.

Inventive gadget, great company
So, I might not know JUST HOW GREAT these things are if I hadn't spoken to the owner of the company today, who phoned me personally at home on a Saturday after receiving a distraught complaint message that my two locks were defective. I had looked up the company through my Amazon order and sent the message, after which I saw that they have a customer service number I could call M-F. The company owner called directly from his personal cell and talked me through a little work-around that got them working again. So, how do they work and not work? Magnets! Once these fit onto the hose bibb (with your key inside) you hear and feel a sort of click into place. Then you remove your key (containing a magnet), and your precious water is on serious lockdown from thieves. Once you need to access your water, you simply insert the key and start unscrewing. My hiccup today was that the lock kept turning in place rather than unscrewing, which is exactly what it does for the people you want to keep out, and what you want it to do to them. But when your magic key is in there, you want it to come off. Apparently a couple of taps on the locking device itself helps tap the "sleeping" magnet back into place, because it worked on both locks that were jammed up. The gracious owner still offered to let me return these in exchange for the brass version with a traditional key at no extra charge. He explained that the brass ones are more costly to make, which is why they are more, and that w/o regular maintenance like WD40 they could fail from corrosion. But that the magnets should last with no maintenance at all, which is how they came to be invented. And they're cheaper to make because the parts are less than brass. Fascinating! Even with the hiccup today I opted to take the leap of faith on the magnets, because I just love the innovative technology. I think if you've checked the listing you can see you can order as many as you want all keyed the same (one key = multiple locks) or keyed differently, but that is a nice bonus for those of us who like it simple. The keys are lightweight and plastic and just plain bizarre. The locks themselves are very heavy and feel sturdy and well made. It seems that the occasional one might fail or be a lemon, but rarely, and if so, it sure seems this company will more than take care of you. I've never gotten service like that EVER. It's rumored the world was like this back in the '50s, but I'm an unfortunate product of mega-corps and phone tree robots that never get a human on the line. I was really blown away by this level of service.

These are a massive UPGRADE from the orange version
If you have the orange version of the Flow Security Systems Faucet Locks , this is a massive UPGRADE to those. These have metal threaded inserts. I wished I had known they upgraded the locks. I would have swapped all of the units on the property to these.

Will not last long
I installed 8 of these on rental units. Easy to install. Tested it and it locked and unlocked as expected. Seemed like a good solution. Problem is after about 6 months they no longer unlock... put the key in and the head just spins and spins. I tried multiple of the right number keys and none worked. I used a small screwdriver to pop off the lock ring and removed the lock. I could see dirt/grime/mildew around the magnet in the lock, preventing it from moving, and of course unlocking. Obviously there is not a sufficient seal to prevent the elements from contaminating the innards of the lock, which over time rends it useless. Buy only if you never want to remove because after awhile you won't be able to remove it except by destroying it.

Quality locks that will last
Purchased a few of these magnetic hose bibb/faucet locks to secure my garden faucets. These locks are made of powder coated aluminum, made to last a very long time, will not rust. The magnets that are used inside are the extremely powerful and permanent, rare earth magnets. Each lock comes with two magnetic keys; keys have magnets encased inside plastic sheath for durability and protection. When the magnetic/plastic key is inserted into the side of the FaucetLock II key hole, the magnetic key triggers the earth magnets inside the lock to join the free spinning thread part to the outside powder coated casing, thus allowing the entire lock to rotate to lock/unlock onto the thread of the faucet. Without the key, the aluminum internal female thread stays secure to the hose bibb male thread, while the outside powder coated casing spins freely. There's a rubber stopper at the bottom of the lock that seals in the water from the faucet. Once the lock is hand tightened to the hose bibb, not a single drop of water will come out even with the faucet turned all the way to full. I can rest knowing nobody will take my water without me knowing! I also like the smooth look of these faucet locks, blending in with my garden. It's so small and cleverly designed, it looks like it's not a lock when looking from a distance. Only fault I found was the key holes were a little sharp on the edges, may cut the fingers of little kids playing with it if they're not careful. I filed the edges of the key hole down to taper them. Need to taper the edges for future locks that are sold.

Prevents utility theft
Will prevent unwanted use of faucet. Water will not flow if the lock is installed. The magnetic key is easy to use/install/remove. Only issue (no fault of the product) is if your municipal water has high mineral build up like mines. The deposits will build up over time that might lead to a seize up.

Key will no longer unlock device (Rating Upgraded)
*******Update August 2024******* One of the two locks has now stopped working just as they both did the first time. Reducing to 3 stars because although the devices themselves don't appear to last as long as might be expected, they are a good concept, compact and the company is responsive when contacted. I think I will just leave the stuck one on till I have no choice but to remove it using the tool provided by the vendor, but once removed I will look for another solution to securing the outdoor faucets. ****** Update September 27th, 2023 ****** I found an email for the company and sent a message with the issue I was having. Within a couple of days I didn't so much get an email response as a personal phone call from a company rep. He asked me a few questions about the devices and said that the issue might be due to my having an older version of the product. He asked me whether I wanted a refund or a replacement. This is fantastic customer service as there are always those who want a refund. For me though, I LOVE this product when it works so I said I would prefer a replacement. I also asked about removing the existing non-working devices. Not only did he send me the newer version of the product as promised, but also provided a tool to remove the old devices free of charge. When everything arrived it was pretty easy to remove the old locks. I replaced them with the newer versions and for the moment they are still working. I will wait a few weeks as happened with the first ones I bought and make sure these still work after that time. But for the moment, I will raise my rating from 2 to 4 stars if only because the devices are great when they do work properly and most especially for the stellar customer service from the company once they knew I had an issue ****************************************************************************** Well if this would work properly I would love it. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. Lock your water tap away from thieves. It worked well the first month or so, but just yesterday (about 6 weeks after purchase) I tried to unlock it and it just turns as if there was no key inserted. I bought two locks keyed the same and I've tried all four keys. None of them work *on either of the two locks*. Kind of like they both broke at the exact same time. This can't be coincidence. Maybe these were in a bad batch or something but now I'm stuck not being able to use my outdoor taps. I tried to find a contact for the seller but can't see any contact info on their store page or on Amazon. Anyone have an idea how I can remove these without damaging the water tap itself? Shame because I really like these.

This product compared to others
Two decades ago, we saw this product at Home Depot. The security of this product has so many advantages compared to other water locking devices. It's hard alloy of nickel is very sturdy and solid product. Also, this product requires a special key to release it. Another option, you can have different keys made for your product. We purchased the product decades ago because we caught someone stealing water, from our outdoor spigot, at 2 am. We were the ones paying the water bill, so we took action and purchased this specific lock. Screw it onto your spigot and walk away. You hold the key to open the spigot when you need to. ***Purchasing a fancy cover with a locking device that can be cut via bolt cutters isn't security.***

Me funcionaron perfectamente

Great!
if they are to go on an exterior tap which has a metal box, the front may not close. But otherwise they are so easy to use, and great at locking the water access up. They are very heavy too, just fyi.
