These were great until they were unusable
Edit 7/14/24: These headphones lasted a long time for me. They just broke in the middle and one of the speakers isn't working great anymore. They were great while they lasted, if you take care of them they will serve you well. Edit 2/1: I received my replacements and they immediately connected with my phone. These still work great, have great sound and are very comfortable. I have yet to try another device, will update to see how that goes. When I first got these everything was easy. I charged them up first, easily paired them with my phone and off I was enjoying great sounding super comfortable headphones. A couple days ago I purchased a new phone and after setting it up the way I wanted I decided to pair them with the headphones. The headphones name (Riff Wireless) weren't showing up on the Available bluetooth devices list. Weird, I thought, but no problem maybe they can only have one device stored at a time on them (the headphones). I turned on my old phone (I had turned it off days before) and they immediately connected with the headphones, due to the prior set up. So I made the phone forget the headphones and again tried to connect to the new phone, nothing. I tried to pair with my old phone, the phone the headphones were JUST paired with and now they aren't showing up on the list. I read through the instructions again and they were of no help. This is very frustrating as I just purchased these (1/7/2022) and I've only used them a handful of times, now they won't pair or even show up on the Available devices list and from what I have been looking at there isn't a way to troubleshoot this problem. Things I have tried: 1. Turning off the bluetooth on both phones and turned off the head phones, then turned everything back on. 2. Shut down both phones completely as well as the headphones, that also did not work. 3. Plugged the headphones in to charge, let them charge completely, shut down both phones again and once they were booted back up turned on the headphones and still nothing. I will see about exchanging these, but this is still incredibly frustrating.

Read the Details!
These are a FANTASTIC pair of headphones! Although, since they're budget headphones, you can't expect the highest build quality. The plastic does feel cheap, but as long as you don't abuse them, you'll be fine! So let's talk about the audio quality. The audio quality is great for such a low price point. The bass is perfect, no large lack and no obnoxious amount of bass. I did have to grow used to the treble through, I have sensitive hearing and sometimes too high of a treble will kill my listening experience. But now they're great! The build quality is alright. But what's to expect out of a pair of $50 headphones? The plastic is somewhat flimsy but I assume that helps to absorb shock when dropped from head height. Comfort! They are SO comfortable! The earmuffs are very soft, and fit perfectly on the surface of my ears. But keep in mind, these are NOT noise cancelling and do NOT surround the entire ear, so you may deal with a little exterior noise when walking around others. So far the battery life has been great. I charged them up several hours prior to using them, and they've lasted quite a few hours! Overall, I believe these headphones are more focus towards entry-level users who have never experienced wireless headphones before. But they're great!

SkullCandy Riff Bluetooth Headphones
First of all, I usually use my headphones to listen to "Spoken Word" things like audiobooks, podcasts, streaming talk-radio. While these would work just fine for casual listening to music if you want the highest sound quality you will likely need to look at upgrading from the "Riff" model. Also, I am a fan of SkullCandy headphones and have had several models that I really liked. If you like SkullCandy, these will perform as well as you'd expect for the price point. PROS --Lightweight - These things are really lightweight. --Comfortable - This follows from "lightweight." But it goes beyond that. Because the ear-pad is full rather than a ring surrounding a "void" they distribute the pressure on the ear/head evenly. This results in an extremely comfortable fit. It also allows it to have sufficient "grip" to not be too loose and move around my head while still not feeling like my head is in a "vise" or creating uncomfortable pressure points. --Flat - I enjoy that that pads can rotate when folded to result in a "flat" profile. Not a huge thing, but it does make them a little easier to store and carry. They also just do a simple fold if that is preferable. CONS --Limited Bluetooth Range - I've had other bluetooth headphones that had better range. I could have my phone charging and go anywhere in the house, even out to my car on the street and still have a somewhat passable connection. That isn't the case with these. I'd say 25-40' is about as far as it will go. Maybe longer if there are no walls to contend with. But if you have your phone with you this isn't really a problem --Flimsy - This one may not be fair. They don't "look" very sturdy. Most headphones I've had had a padded band over the head. These are just the plastic. The padding might make the other headphones "look" more sturdy. I've had these for about a month of normal use and they haven't missed a beat, but when I first saw them I thought, "Yeah, this isn't going to work." --Battery Life - I've heard mixed claims on the battery life. One says 12-hours and I'm pretty sure they exceed that. The other says 30-35 and my thought is, "Nope." I've not been able to get any actual data on battery life but am comfortable in saying 10-20 is pretty reliable. Maybe 25 under really good conditions. I usually just keep an eye on the battery level and if it gets low I will plug them in. I haven't verified the 10-15 minutes of charging giving 3 hours of battery life, but after only a couple hours of charging I have 100% so usually I just do that (I have a "spare" pair of headphones at work/home that I can use while these are charging). Overall, these headphones are really solid for their $40-60 price point. They are not "High End" and SkullCandy can fill that for you if that's what you really want/need. But for just daily/everyday use these are a solid choice. I am only giving 4 stars because I'd like to have more like 30-40 hours of battery life. Otherwise it would be 5+ stars. Update: I've had these headphones for about 3 years. Still really comfortable. Good sound quality. My "flimsy" comment isn't aging well as they have not shown any sign of getting close to breaking. Still the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned. The ones I got in 2023 (it is 2026 now) have a "micro-USB" charger (I think it's micro, its what Android used before going to USB-C). I do wish that they used USB-C charger. Double check as this may have been changed on newer models. If not, its "another cord" I have to have handy. The ear-pads are beginning to break down. They have a "mesh" type covering that is starting to split. It's been 3 years and these are $30-40 headphones. Still well worth the money as I have used these headphones for hundreds of hours. I am happy to pay $30-40 for headphones every 3 years that are this comfortable and have this level of sound quality..

Good value, comfortable, good sound quality.
The product is as described, good sound quality, comfortable and the ear covers are soft as can be. I was warned that BT headsets would cause latency when I record, but I've not noticed it. One thing that could be improved is the control buttons. On my black headset they are very hard to see and feel. I often can't tell if the unit is on or off unless I toggle the buttons. There is a light that flashes to let you know when it is connecting, but no way to tell the state it is in...on or off. I suspect that an active LED would cost battery life... I've seen a couple reviews saying that the materials are cheap and easily break. I disagree. It is plastic, very lightweight, and yes, you should not toss them around. If you are hard on equipment, feel free to buy the old-fashioned, skull-crushing models.

Broken After 2 Years
Be forewarned this will be a little bit of a lengthily review. The Skullcandy Riff Wireless On-Ear Headphones worked sufficiently well for a little over two years for me. Today—they broke in two on the left-side inner headband. I did not stress the headband any more than for typical everyday use. When they broke I was simply picking them up and lightly pulling them apart to place on my head just as I have done with them for over two years. The foam on the left ear also came off about 6 months ago, but I reattached it with superglue and that was effective. These are very affordable headphones at an entry level price point, so you can be the judge of if a little over 2 years of usability qualifies as value at that price. As for the quality outside of the durability issue—I would call them average for the price. The sound quality was passable for audio, but the voice (mic) quality left much to be desired in my experience. I also had some connectivity oddities when pairing with my Windows 10 PC. For instance the headphones seemed to have two device profiles, one called Riff Wireless Stereo (No Voice) and one called Riff Wireless Hands-Free AG Audio (w/ Voice). In my experience you cannot use both profiles and need to select only one. So basically you cannot have stereo audio and voice capability together. The Hands-Free AG Audio is mono and frankly sounds terrible. So if you're planning to game with these I would look for different headphones. So baring in mind those issues you can decide whether these would work for your specific use case scenario. Based on my experience I feel like Skullcandy has decreased in quality. I have a pair of Skullcandy Uprock wired headphones from the early 2000s that still work very well and sound very good for the price—which was around $20 if I recall.

Fantastic wireless headphones at a great price! I highly recommend them.
I am not a fan of wireless anything. I hate bluetooth so I was not happy about having to switch to wireless headphones. These helped to change my mind because of the ease of connecting them. SET-UP: My biggest gripe with wireless is that it takes more time to connect everything and get it syched and that it's faster to just plug in a wire. Well, these headphones are just as easy as plugging in a wire. Once you connected them once then any other time you use them it's as easy as flipping a switch to turn them on. And the initial setup wasn't actually bad at all. It took maybe 2 minutes tops to go into my bluetooth settings and add the headset. VOLUME: I was a little concerned that they wouldn't be loud enough because they aren't noise-canceling and they don't completely incase the ear but rather rest on the ear itself. Volume is not an issue. These get loud enough to listen to with them on the table. They may not be noise canceling but if you blast your music you aren't going to hear anything else. Also, listening to a podcast on a crowded train was no issue. I could hear the podcast clearly. SOUND QUALITY: Next issue with wireless is that sound quality suffers but this was not an issue either. Music sounds amazing. There is no way you could tell these headphones from a wired pair of headphones. The sound quality is incredible. BATTERY LIFE: I thought it would suck to have to charge my headphones constantly but you actually don't have to charge them often. I have had my headphones about a month and I think I charged them twice. They charge very fast. They actually shipped charged which was nice. I don't know how long the battery life actually is but that is because I've never had them die on me. So you can easily listen to your headphones for an hour or more on your way to work then an hour or more on the way home from work without having to charge in the middle. I don't know if these stats will last as the battery ages or if I'm just getting lucky based on my usage but I hope they stay this good. PHONE CALLS: So to my surprise this headset allows you to answer phone calls. I didn't think it would since there is no microphone dangling from a cord near my jawline, so I was pleasantly surprised. Not only can you make and receive calls with the headset but they actually sound great. The person I spoke to said my voice was clear and it didn't sound like I was on a speaker phone or anything like that. On my end, I heard the caller clearly. So, great for handsfree calling. COST: Great value. Most headsets like this cost well over $100 and close to $200 so at $45 these are a steal. DURABILITY: This is the one area I ding the headphones for. They feel kinda cheap and plastic. I haven't had an issue with them breaking in any way yet but it feels like they could easily get crushed or they could break if handled aggressively. I mean they aren't complete garbage though. You can drop them on the floor from head height (like I did by accident) and they didn't break when hitting the wood floor. They also fold up into themselves nicely so they can easily fit in a briefcase or bag, which is a huge plus. They can handle being tossed around in my bag all day but I do feel like if I had something heavy in the bag or if I dropped the bag hard I could possibly break the headset. OVERALL: Great pair of wireless headphones that I would highly recommend.

Totally worth it
I absolutely love them, however they are very fragile. I’ve put them on my head and they snapped on one side. But it was the right side, the sound was very good and they were very comfortable. However I’m clumsy so probably I’d break them again really easily if I were to buy another pair.

Great bang for your buck
I bought these for home use, and since I lived alone and don't go to work due to COVID-19, I don't really require heavy duty noise cancelling headphones. As such, I wasn't really mad about them not drowning out all noise. That said, on max volume you probably won't hear someone properly who's talking to you, but they aren't noise cancelling if you don't have audio playing. They are lighter than I expected so I was worried they'd be cheap, but they're really good. Portable, easily foldable. Super comfortable on my ears - however, I have very small ears so they are perfect for me, but would imagine they might be small for an average person. My favourite thing about them is how easy they pair - I never ever have an issue with pairing, they always connect quickly. Great for video calls and listening to music. All in all, a great pair of headphones for everyday use, especially for the price.
