Sanzo Wada was active as an artist,art school instructor,costume designer for the movies and the theater, and kimono and fashion designer who employed his extensive and versatile talents to do innovative work that centered primarily on visual perception and form. Sanzo Wada (1883~1967)'s interest in the importance of color prompted him to found the Japan Standard Color Association (present-day Japan Color Research Institute) in 1927. Active not only as a color researcher but also as an artist, fashion designer, and stage and film art director, he received the 1954 Academy Award for Best Costume Design for Gate of Hell and was recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit by the Japanese government in 1958. 小さいのに中身は充実
印刷されたものを見るとピンとこないが、実際に選んだ配色で描いてみると絶妙なコンビネーション 配色のセンスに自信がなかったがこれを使うと洒落た色合わせになる

内容は良いですが、イラストはありません
Instagramで見かけて気になったので購入しました。 昭和の色の組み合わせを学べる、面白い本だと思います。ただ、表紙が思ったより少し薄かったです。 似たシリーズでイラスト付きの本もありますが、こちらはイラストがなく、色の組み合わせが中心です。 イラストも楽しみたい方は、購入前に確認した方がいいと思います。色の参考にするには良い一冊です！

Small but mighty resource to spark design ideas.
I have really enjoyed this book. I bought it for my personal/professional use. I am not an artsy person, and this book helps with ideas of what colors go together. I use the ideas when I choose colors for presentations, or personal decoration. I love the japanse culture and their efficiency, and minimalist combinations, yet very beautiful. I enjoyed that the book is not cluttered with visuals. It is more of a methodical design. It is a small book. I wish it was larger to appreciate the colors better.

Lindo libro de teoría del color
Aunque es un libro pequeño en tamaño, contiene mucha información sobre los colores. A mi hija le encantó y lo usa para sus dibujos de acuarela, disfruta mucho el usarlo

Beautiful and inspiring color reference for artists
As an artist, I bought this book specifically for color inspiration and I absolutely love it. The combinations are beautiful, unique, and really helpful when I’m looking for ideas for my artwork. It’s also much more versatile than I expected. The color palettes could be useful for so many other things, such as interior decorating, choosing clothing colors and other purposes. A wonderful little book for anyone who loves color and creativity. Highly recommended!
