Is this metal or rubber

The word "rubber" is often used when describing these santoprene trainers, but I'm not sure that's the best word to use. Santoprene is softer and lighter than polypropylene, and won't break a finger bone like polypropylene can.. These santoprene trainers are semi-rigid with blunted edges - they will not and cannot impale or slice open anyone. Santoprene has about 10 - 30% weight of most things they are imitating. Rubber is much heavier than santoprene but lacks rigidity without internal structural support, and these santoprene trainers don't have any of that.
