Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Dart Dolphin Kickboard - Learn-to-Swim Pool Toy

My 5year old loves this kickboard. She is taking swim lessons, but not yet able to swim independently. The kickboard gives her the confidence to venture into deeper water, even more than the Puddle Jumper float she used previously. As she has gotten more comfortable in the water, she progressed naturally from holding the board under her chest with both hands, to extending it in front with a single hand, gradually taking on more of the effort of floating. It held up to a full summer of pool visits, and still looks like new. We're very happy with the purchase!

I ordered this paddle board for my daughter that is delayed. We used it for a swim therapy session to help build her strength. This board was just the right size for the exercises she needs to do. It was a great price as well and a fun design for her to look at while working hard.

Bought it to help daughter learn swimming - she swims fine now and still loves to use the kickboard to play around in the pool - I was unsure about the fabric cover but it has held up remarkably well - keeps the foam inside covered and protected from scuffs and damage so I think it will last way beyond her childhood. Great product!

My four year old grandson was coming to visit and we live near a small swimming lake. He just finished beginning swimming lessons and this board was perfect for him to practice and show us what he had learned. Cute graphic, floats as expected and he loved it. Please remember this is a toy and not a flotation device so adult supervision at all times. Fun purchase.

My daughters are learning to swim and their swimming instructor uses a kickboard with them to teach them proper technique. So I decided to purchase one just like hers so that I can practice at home home with them. It serves the main purpose which is to give the child something to hold on to as they learn to kick with their legs. Highly recommend it.

This kickboard is cute and it definitely got my children - ages 3 and 5 - excited about trying some kicks in the water, which is what I was hoping. Even if it doesn't prove to be very durable, it will still have served its purpose in making them try something new and this is why I am giving the product three stars. I was disappointed when I opened the box though, because the board looks like a piece of styrofoam wrapped in bathing suit material. The kids are kids and I can see the cover getting ripped quite easily or maybe the board itself snapping if handled too roughly. As I said, the kids like it a lot, but I consider it a "disposable" item. I will update this review if I turn out to be wrong on this.

The dolphin is kind of an odd picture on the board, but it was cheap and it's well made. Children ask my daughter what it is at the pool all the time, and she usually has to point out that it's a dolphin. I'm not docking it any stars, but I probably would have spent a little more money to get a cuter board.

I'm surprised to see people complain that these are small and fragile. My husband and I were playing around with them. They are definitely not fragile. Size wise they are meant for kids. Kids can't hold onto something huge. My daughters who are 4 were playing with these just fine. I wouldn't want them any bigger. And the design is adorable.
