You don't realize how many of these lamp socket ring thing you have until you go and look. We had wall lamps which started to corrode, so we wanted to take them down, clean the up, and paint them white. When we tried to reassemble them, the ring is in such a narrow location you can't get your finger on it to tighten it, So, I got this tool with extra rings and boy did it pay for itself. It is super easy to use, makes removal and reinstall easy, and is a great value for the money. Good thing I got the one with extra rings, because one of the old rings stripped. I popped in a new one and we're good. The quality of the tool's fit and finish is a bit rough, but it functions just fine. Worth every penny.
