iPad Mini 4 needs low power accessory for this to transfer video/photos.
My only Lightning port device is my iPad Mini 4, so this review could be unique to that model. 1 - Does this adapter charge (with USB C cable)? YES! About 10 Watts (4.7V 2.0A) charging from 77% 2 - Does this transfer data from computer? No - *the listing is upfront and says this is NOT supported - so no stars off for that topic* 3- Does this work with USB C headphones & mic? Not for me. Maybe it's because the iPad Mini 4 has an RCA jack? Did I miss a setting to use the lightning port? I don't know. It just didn't work for me for audio or microphone. 4- Does this work as an OTG (On The Go) device? **Yes, but...** ... it depends on how much power the accessory requires! I have a minimalist micro SD card reader that is USB C & USB A - worked just fine, no warnings or issues. My Samsung USB C (256GB) Flash Drive drew too much power and failed with a warning immediately. So did two SD/Micro SD card readers. One that failed with this adapter had it's own adapter (USB C male to Lightning to iPad Mini 4) that works without the "requires too much power" warning. All things considered, if you only need to charge your Lightning device then this adapter will bring you into the USB C powered world. If you have a low powered OTG device, this will likely also work within it's stated limitations. If, however, your OTG device requires more power then this is not the adapter for you.
