Impressive Thermal Camera – Exceptional Clarity & Value for Home & Electronics Inspections
I'm thoroughly impressed with the Thermal Master P3 thermal camera. For its very reasonable price, it delivers exceptional high-resolution thermal imaging with crisp clarity and reliable, accurate temperature readings, including helpful point-by-point measurements that remove much of the guesswork from color interpretation alone. Setup is truly plug-and-play across both Android and iOS phones, thanks to USB-C compatibility and the included Lightning adapter. It draws power directly from your device, so there are no batteries to charge or replace, which promises excellent longevity even as you upgrade phones. The whole unit is compact enough to slip into a pants pocket, complete with a neat protective case. The manual focus is a standout feature: smooth, firm, and SLR-like in feel, giving you precise control for razor-sharp macro shots of circuit boards, small electronics, or close-up details. It does take a moment to get used to and feels slightly less intuitive at longer focus distances, but the tradeoff is well worth it for the accuracy it provides. The companion app is intuitive and packed with useful options, multiple color palettes, brightness/contrast adjustments, mirror/rotation views, and easy image or video capture, while the camera boots up in seconds and feels solidly built. I've used it to great effect around the house: spotting missing insulation behind drywalls and in attic, drafts around doors and windows, HVAC leaks, plumbing issues, electrical hotspots, and even locating studs or pipes behind drywall. It's also fantastic for PCB diagnostics and general home maintenance. The temperature reading is almost accurate, just a +/- .05 to 1 degree F off. A couple of small wishes, the app doesn't yet allow retroactive temperature measurements on videos, and the overlay is a picture-in-picture corner view rather than full-screen overlay, but these are minor in light of how well everything else works. Overall, this is a well-made, versatile tool that punches well above its price point. I happily recommend it to any homeowner or DIYer looking for a dependable super compact thermal camera!

Pretty good
Needed to locate my radiation floor heat lines in my slab so i could drill into the slab without puncturing any of the pex….decided a thermal imaging camera was the way to go. I chose the P3 over the P1 as it had an adjustable lens, which did come in handy. That said, I’ve only used the camera 1 day for about 4 hours and won’t probably use it again until a month or so when i am going to do more drilling into the slab. The camera worked as advertised! It felt a bit more delicate than i expected, but given the price compared to a $1K professional camera, i’d say it’s on-par. The only odd thing, is i could hear an audible click like the camera was switching lenses or something like that every once in a while. The camera still worked but i couldn’t’ tell if this was normal or abnormal. The click usually occurred after touching one of the lens filters, or moving something into the field of the camera suddenly that had a huge temperature difference from the back ground…i.e. my hand vs cold concrete. I felt the app was about 85% good. Unlike many of the reviews, i didn’t have too and nor was i asked to give, any permissions by the app to access my iPhone. The only permission is the built in iPhone design when connecting any usb-c or lightning-port accessory…where it asks if you want to allow this accessory. The app was intuitive to use, though using the QR code off the booklet took you to their website and not the App store or to WhatsApp for some reason—I just manually went to the App store and downloaded the app. The remaining 15% missing from the app is things like a image of how to use the app with button for the instruction but its just a picture so it doesn’t’ do anything. There’s also a link in the app (as well as a paper in the box) that states “extend your warranty by 2 additional year” but clicking the link takes you to the sign up section of their website as if your going to purchase something and there’s no product registration any ware to be found. Overall the App was sufficient for my means, but could be a little refined. Since i’m still rocking an old iPhone 13Pro, I had to use the “included” lightning-port connector to connect it to my phone and the camera which is usb-c. No issues with any of the connections nor was there any temporary disconnecting of the connections by wiggling. I held the phone in every position possible, even inverted, and still no connection issue. I’m not into thermal imagery, so i cant give an in-depth review on how well the camera’s accuracy work. However, the sensitivity was such that i could still see my bare footprints on both carpet and tile, even if i only touched the surface for a fraction of a second. For my intended purpose of seeing pex lines in concrete (i used cold water in the lines) it worked well. I could even see the headers and extra thick framing members though my osb sheathed, unfinished interior walls that did not have any heating or cooling on either side nor insulation. The adjustable lens absolutely made a difference in making the image clear, and I’m glade i did the up charge to the P3 from the P1. Finally, the funny bit was the smell. Pulling the camera out of the protective foam block gave me reminisce of smelling the tool grease when entering into Harbor Freight store combined with old, half smoked cigarets. I think the smell was from the foam. Overall, i think this product was worthy of its price and have no regrets. If the camera breaks or fails, i’ll update my post otherwise assume it’s working fine.

iPhone infrared camera system
Great product , very pleased with this excellent product! I can now easily find my radiant in floor heating tubing . I easily and accurately shows temperature high, normal and cold spots . It’s refreshing to buy a product that works better than expected. Also the zoom lens to view small electronics is a nice if a needed function. I highly recommend this product. Well done praise for engineering and developer’s!

Super clear picture
This thing is awesome! Used it to see the heated floors in my van. The manual focus takes some getting used to but it allows you to switch between far away and insanely close up! I pointed it at the hairs on my hand and could see temperature differences in a single hair follicle. My only feedback is the temperature is a little off. Obviously I would not expect it to read body temperature at 80 degrees Fahrenheit but it does so you just need to do some mental math. It would be nice if the app had a way to calibrate to a known temperature.
