When I ordered the "Cleartide Stainless Steel Submersible Water Sump Pump with Float Switch, 1/2 HP, 3060 GPH Ideal for Pool, Yard, Flooded Cellar & Basement, Hot Tub, Pond, and Garden Draining, 10 FT Cord", I had intended to use it for my backyard. Unfortunately due to inadequate grading, my backyard is like a bowl. During periods of heavy rain, it always floods. I have a few other pumps that I use with a thick blue discharge hose. A discharge hose will attach to this, however with the connection being on the top, it makes it a little difficult to flow through that hose without the hose itself bending over and ceasing water flow. A more less flexible hose, such as a garden hose works best. For me, that does not pump out fast enough for my backyard to avoid flooding in those situations. So for this I will use it more for draining pool, hot tub, etc. This feels like a well built machine. It is nice and solid. It has a clear instruction manual included. It provides plenty of power to drain a hot tub quickly and efficiently. The noise level is as expected. I think this is reasonably priced. It comes packaged well to avoid any damage. I do wish it had a longer cord as 10 feet is a bit short for me.
