Good stuff!
This stuff works great. I use a pound of it in a filter that contains bone char carbon. This media protects the bone char carbon from getting consumed by chlorine in my municipal water. I have a standard carbon block filters after that filter.

Works great
Built a prototype water filter for the homestead, and it seems to be working great. I added the kdf55 media to improve filtration, and it's proven to be a good addition. 1 lb of kdf55 into 2lbs activated carbon, then 1 lb of fine sand. All contained in 14" of 2" pvc, super simple. Water comes out sparkling clear and tastes great.

what the pros use... ...great stuff
I spent about a year installing high end water purification products, and kdf55 was one of the products we used on a regular basis when we wanted to go beyond standard charcoal filtration and add in some antibacterial media to a system. Just as a refresher I checked again for research indicating that there were no negative health effects associated with this product, and I was unable to find any issues associated with it. Like the title says, this stuff is what the pros use, and the price is pretty close to what a water treatment guy would pay wholesale. absolutely no complaints there.

Best type of media to remove chlorine for RO
Using this KDF 55 to remove chlorine for my RO system. I have 1lb in a refillable EMPTY INLINE REFILLABLE CARTRIDGE-2"X 10" | For DI/CARBON/ALKALINE filter. It would take ~1.5lb to completely fill it. No drop in water pressure (35-40psi ~4GPM through my RO system) was observed with 1lb in the previously mentioned filter and topped off with carbon pellets. My water is overly chlorinated and this has been working to remove most of it but I may need to buy more to completely remove the chlorine. No information on product use/recommendations were included in the package.
