Chin Mount for ICON Airflite Helmets

When I first bought this I was like ugh expensive.... but I bought this mount over a year now and I've loved it. Great content, great POV, it's really worth the purchase. Just now, (why I'm making the review) i heat gunned the heck out of it, and re-mounted it to my new visor. Sticking perfectly like I just took the tape off the first time. You can see the mount fit snug on my new visor and you can see the residue on my old visor. I would highly recommend this product. I can't confirm the fit on the new airflite visors tho... i know ICON just released a new version.

It is a GoPro mount and it fits perfect on my Icon Airflight, the only problem I have is with the helmet itself. It has no pinlock or anything so with the weight of the camera on the lens it sometimes bounces up and snaps down. Not at all a problem with the mount, mind you, but still something to consider.

Had it on my helmet for months, has been hit with strong winds (90+ mph on the highway no windshield) and hasnt fallen off or lost its stickyness. Would recommend

Personally I can’t recommend this to anyone. It straight up flew off my helmet, causing me to lose my camera. I followed the instructions to the T, and while turning to the side to see switch lanes I guess the wind caught it and ripped it off, hitting my wife who was riding behind on her helmet. DO NOT BUY THIS NOR THE CHIN MOUNT BRAND EITHER. Please save your money and get something more secure, not a potential projectile. EDIT: After reaching out to the Motorradds team they immediately replaced my camera! I didn’t even know and I get a package to my door with a new one! They are also sending me a replacement mount! ( granted it was a $80 camera, I’m not strapping 300-400 recording equipment to my head) but they have more than made up for the mistake. I’m going to be using some project glue and zip ties to further stabilize things. They are also sending me a tassle in case anything falls off, it’ll still be attached. This is a REAL stand up no bs company unlike that other company with BS adds everywhere and 3D mounts for $40.

The item is not perfectly contoured to the Face Shield, but it's 'close enough'. You have to ensure that the guide fingers are as deeply into the Face Shield slots as possible before bonding the 3m adhesive foam to the Shield. The adapters can be slid into the mount from either top or bottom since there is enough clearance to come in from either direction. I mounted my DJI Action 5 camera with a simple pivot bracket and 1" extension, with the 'NEEWER' camera bracket, and it has enough range of motion to tilt back far enough so that when I am in the tuck the camera still faces forward properly. It seems to hold properly no matter how vigorously I shake my head, and the weight of the camera actually helps the bracket to stay on the face shield and presses down onto the adhesive foam pad. A very nice design IMHO. The only way to get a better mount is to make one using JB Weld and some of the universal plates, but that is a lot of hassle and time. This mount is clean, neat, small, and easy to use, and seems more than strong enough for the job. Highly recommended.

I like that fact that the mount uses both the hard plastic "hooks" that go through the vents in addition to the 3m tape. I would want you that you need an extended camera mount as the standard one does not allow you to flip the camera even with the helmet and the horizon. Overall great product that has held up to several hours of riding in moderate weather. Thanks

I absolutely love my Airflight helmet from icon motorsports, but I was struggling to find the effective way to mount a go pro to the front of the helmet. This go pro mounts is the perfect solution ! Update: This mount is a great concept but immediately upon my first use, I noticed that the weight of the camera causes the face shield to constantly slam shut. Even riding at slow speeds when I want the helmet shield cracked open a bit. Then, it gets worse. Two weeks of use and the adhesive tape that came on this mount failed causing my camera to fall off the face shield and fall on the concrete. The impact broke the mount into two pieces. Fortunately the go pro was ok. ...and before you ask, yes it was installed properly to a new face shield and all instructions were followed to a T. I can’t in good concise recommend this product.

Works great. Got up to 135 with no issues. Have a gopro max chin mounted. Surprisingly doesn't make the visor close if you open it.

First one snapped, company sent out a free replacement. Figured out a loop around it making it more sturdy so it won’t snap. Need to modify the back of it by filing it off. Bit of messing about

A bit expensive for such a tiny bit of plastic, but then again it is custom fit. The 3M contact pad seems quite untrustworthy and an improved design would be to have a second set of 'teeth' going into the lower holes on the mouth vent too so that it clicked into place, thus preventing the need for the adhesive. I have superglued mine to my visor as I don't want to put my £400 Gopro in the hands of the flimsy adhesive. As a product: it can be improved however they have no competition being the only chin mount for this helmet.
