The LitRPG fantasy smash hit phenomenon and New York Times bestseller, DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL , is now a graphic novel for the very first time! The Apocalypse WILL be televised! You know whatโs worse than breaking up with your girlfriend? Getting stuck on a sadistic alien game show with her cat. Join Carl and Princess Donut as they try to survive the end of the world โ or just get to the next level of a trap-filled fantasy dungeon. With vibrant art done by Laurel Pursuit to bring action-packed battles to life, join as Carl fights his way through the dungeon in heart-speckled underwear. And of course, the grizzly scenes are only balanced with the incredibly fluffy, wide-eyed stare of its main character, Princess Donut. A ton of heart and effort was poured in creating a series with a script and style that would both appeal to WEBTOON readers and also lovers of DCC, all while consulting author Matt Dinniman the entire way about character designs, story, - EVERYTHING! We couldnโt resist taking the apocalyptic awesomeness of the DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL WEBTOON and adapting it into the FIRST EVER graphic novel series! Welcome, Crawler. Welcome to the Dungeon. Survival is optional. Keeping the viewers entertained is not. This volume collects episodes 1-13 of the WEBTOON edition. Vibrant art and cleverly abridged to faithfully convey the original story. Canโt wait for the next one!

This graphic novel is exactly what I hoped for!
I absolutely love the Dungeon crawler Carl book series! This Graphic Novel is an amazing addition. I love the size, which is smaller than most trade paperback graphic novels, but bigger than a readers digest graphic novels. Paper quality is excellent and the art/coloring is gorgeous! If youโre a DCC fan, then I donโt believe you (or Mongo) would be appalled by this beautiful graphic novel.

A fun new look at DCC
I know this isnโt everyoneโs idea of what Carl should look like, but I really enjoyed the art especially for the monsters and action scenes. Lots of fun. Canโt wait to see what Carl looks like as he levels up.

Wish Greg Capullo did the art
First off I love the book series and the comic is pretty accurate to the book and the art is cool, no shade on anime, I like anime but anime isn't the way I pictured the characters. I would love to see what someone like the amazing Greg Capullo would do with the art. OMG that would be amazing! I only give 4 stars because the book arrived with a torn page that I'm pretty sure happened in the printing process but still passed a inspection to be released and delivered to me. Just bad luck I guess. Again no hate on the artist just not the direction I would have gone.

I love DCC and followed the webtoon. I was so excited to finally get this. The pictures are stunning and they follow the storyline well. I wish the print was a bit larger, as it is quite small; it is extraordinarily well done and captures the complex characters and storylines in book 1.

Fans will love it
If you're a fan of DCC you'll enjoy this graphic novel. The details from the source carry over well. Princess doughnut isn't quite the same design due to how difficult the animation of her original colors, but still a great read.

Perfect.
I've read the books and thought I would check out this graphic novel. Very much enjoyed it, beautiful artwork and both Carl and Donut are brought to life very well. The storyline is of course not as detailed as the book, but again, works very well.

Fun read!
NEW ACHIEVEMENT- Comic Book Guy! You're experiencing Dungeon Crawler Carl in a format historically beloved by socially inept dweebs! Go on, tell yourself it's become much more mainstream and acceptable if that makes you feel less judged reading this on the bus ride to your job at Gamestop. REWARD: People will now be %2 more likely to believe that your "Girlfriend who lives in Canada" actually exists! Jokes aside, this is a pretty good adaptation of an absurdly good series, except that in adapting it from the webtoon format some of the panels (specifically the ones with system message windows) have been shrank down to fit on manga-sized pages little too much to read comfortably with old people eyes. The art is solid, and the team did well on moving the vertical style webcomic panels to a printed horizontal layout for the most part. Character design is a departure from the book cover art familiar to fans, but feels fresh and dynamic in a way that suits this manga/manhwa/comic format to a tee. People already familiar with the series will enjoy little background details thrown in by the art team that hint at things and characters who become pretty important later without spoiling anything. Looking foward to volume 2!

Great story, fantastic art, wish it was bigger
This is a great way to experience DCC. You don't need to have read the actual books, this graphic novel does a good job telling the story. The art is beautiful, especially if you like the anime/manga style. I only wish the book was physically bigger. It can be difficult to read small text, particularly when it is close to the spine. This is my only gripe. If you're looking to get into the DCC series this is an awesome entry point. I've already pre-ordered volume 2.
