Even-though, these beans have a bath of oil or wax? I did not even think about that before. It occurs to me at this moment, it could be wax? I have no idea, but let's leave the wax out, going back to the oil, they cook perfectly fine and fast and it tastes great as beans, only. Rice with beans together cooks well too; of course it needs to be soaked overnight. I have no idea about the freshness.

A very repeated purchase
My cook time with these beans is based on how I prepare them. I cook these beans in my instant pot. The instant pot allows me to cook these beans without having to soak them and that typically takes about 60 to 65 minutes. If I do decide to soak the beans they're typically done in about 35 to 40 minutes.

Cheap and Nutritious!
Just as expected! I'm stocking up on non-perishable foods for emergency situations. Black beans are full of nutrients and a great value for the money. I cook them in my instapot. I rinse them first, although these beans are very clean. They smell great, I love their texture, and these beans are very fresh. I would recommend!
