With over 300 detailed pictures, this step-by-step manual covers all the basics of a first course in aerial yoga. Pigeon, bow, frog, plank and more than forty other moves are described using the fabric as an assisting tool. Moves are done both in conjunction with the ground and suspended in the air. Designed for both teachers and students, this manual is the perfect reference handbook to have on hand. Review: Great Start for Beginners! - This book is a good practice guide for beginners who also take classes from a trained instructor. Personally, I would not use the book without also learning from a live professional, so I recommend it for supplemental purposes. Review: 1st volume - The book came in excellent condition!! The content is very helpful too for building up aerial vocabulary. But I do want to remind everyone that you can buy directly from the authors website and if you buy the digital book it is cheaper!! I also have been looking for the second volume and was able to get it from the authors own website. The other thing is- I have been taking aerial hoop and trapeze classes for 2 years. While as I thought I'm still a beginner, I have done 80% of the moves noted in this book. Just wanted to share so others can use this to decide whether buying this book will be beneficial for your level of skills.

BEST!
I love this manual - the instructions are clearly written and the photos show the moves at the right angles showing concept of getting on the hoop or moves on the hoop. I love in a small town. Nobody does this and therefore there are no local teachers. The manual is a lifesaver and I use it as a.reference daily. R Leach is a dedicated aerial professional and this manual highlights her vast ability and love for artist arts.

Not for me
Lots of great reviews on this one but for me it was a waste of money. Not sure what I expected but I didnโt feel it helped me learn anything. Could be my learning style made this to hard for me to follow and process

great starter aerial hoop manual
great for beginners; liked the sections on exploring movement, going beyond the combos taught in class & grouping movements into 'families'. pictures help the explanations. I think this book is helpful for those who have been at a beginner level for a while to understand the derivative of some of the poses and combinations taught in a regular class. This book gives you ideas; is less of a 'how to' manual. can't wait for volume II!
